Fighting Back Against The Islanders

I am tired of the Islander's endless bitching and complaining to the city about how loud The Docks is when they pay next to nothing to live there. There's probably very little noise as there is. I think it's time to do some complaining of our own.
Who would I talk to to support The Docks? I really think they can use the extra help. Once we find out who to talk to, I suggest everyone gives them a phone call to let them know what we think about the Islanders and the ridiculous regulations that The Docks are forced to abide by. |

So your complaining about the complaining by complaining!? Because they pay cheap rent they don't have an opinion on noise by-laws?
I'm just confused, what do I know. |

Heh.
I've slept on a friend's boat at the Island Marina a few times when things were going on at the Docks and I have to say the way noise carries, it's unbelievable. I've heard conversations as though they were in the same room...
er.
Maybe that was just me... :toothless
Seriously though, I don't know what will help here beyond addressing the real issue.

well i think we first have to really find out how loud it is there.
there is no point in fighting them if it is really loud.
maybe the docks has to think about a different set up in terms of sound.
i'm sure glass all around doesn't help in retaining the sound indoors. |

Noise travels over water very easily. I could just imagine how loud it is over there, but something that i think is overlooked way too often with this little scenario is that they LIVE IN TORONTO. Not only IN Toronto, but directly across from downtown. This is something they should have to put up with. What next? - People who live on Spadina complaining about cars honking their horns and cops with sirens going off in the middle of the night?!
Note to the islanders. Take some of your extra cash you planned on beefing up your boat and spend it on soundproofing the place you sleep. Oh - and off too. |
