DJ Eco, I understand your incentive but the name just leads people to think the party will be something it's not... Which is just well, ghey....
If you want to have a light and dark themed party then name it "Fire & Ice" or something... but knocking off Sensation sucks, because people will expect something specific from the party, not get it, and be pissed off....
just my 2 cents |

| no, dont get me wrong, i totally agree. naming it "Sensation" is more trouble than its worth, thus ive been thinking of "Fire and Ice", "Heaven and Hell", etc. no worries, i agree with u guys 100%, and i dont want legal problems with ID-T either, so im hoping the DJs i plan on booking can speak for themselves and draw a big crowd (which im sure they will) :happy2: |

I'm not sure how much experience you have in throwing parties but becareful. If your party flops you'll have a nice sum to pay for these DJs. Like many big named DJs who have agencies, there are usually certain requirements they have regarding the night. I see specifically the examples you've shown seem to put you on the same card as them. If my hunch is correct you are trying to self-promote yourself as well. I'm not hating on that fact, do so, but I'm sure Roxy doesn't have their resident DJ open for Armin, Carlcox, Tiesto...etc. I think the falsehood lies in that. The dream of being on the same card as another high profile DJ isn't going to get you the recognition by being the sole party thrower. The logic is right and I understand what you are trying to accomplish but just know that the people on the other side, the booking agency, probably wouldn't spring for it. You want to bring big names to the city, you want to bring solid preformances, you need to have a stacked wallet to obtain the venue, the marketing tools, and the nightlife pull.
Alot of large scale clubs, crobar, roxy, spirit, all have music coordinators who do the bookings and promotional copy. I'm simply trying to prevent you from digging yourself into a grave. But who knows, I don't know you nor do I know your budget. You don't want to bring O'Bir or DJ Montana here who is gonna cost you $3,000 for his night which is feasible before you consider the venue's cost, the marketing cost. There is alot of variables to having a nightlife event trust me I know...I've had my share of doing parties.
Victor's parties are great for him, he has the spot the sound and the audience. Same with TFST, they have the Djs the venue and the following. Most people who aspire to throw a party is for themselves to be heard at a gig. Those are the people who want to play for an audience but hasn't gotten the chance to do it. By organizing your own party you need to seriously consider alot of things. Money is a BIG BIG factor, effort in your group to do the same, promotional copy and cost. Is this a 1 time bang for the buck gig?
I have this feeling you aren't experienced in doing parties (i could be wrong) I have this feeling you are dying for exposure and a good way to get it is by throwing your own party(i could be wrong again) but before all of that, just know that throwing your own party isn't easy man...it's not easy to bring people in...me, TFST, and many other local parties out there know that. The key to having a party for your own promotion (you DJing your party) is to keep it small, cheap, and comfortable. Victor has done it quite successfully, we have accomplished our own as well, and many others like homegrown, and wickedliquid.
Take my advice or not...I'm just looking out dude...there is no quick way to land a gig or make a buck. Gotta work for everything...I've seen it with my own eyes ... |

whoa.... idk what to say... thanx? for your concern...
...but, theres so much id like to correct u about in your statements. i am not throwing this party just to self promote myself, im not even doing it for the money to tell u the truth, im not booking a HUGE venue that i know that i cant fill. our budget isnt HUGE, but it is enough for what i have planned. im not throwing this party to prove to myself i can "play to a crowd". i have done clubs in Italy and i have had thousands of ppl dancing on a dancefloor to my beats (not to seem conceited, by any means). if the majority of ppl go to this event and leave not even remembering who that DJ Eco kid is, thats fine by me, i just hope that i can provide the right music and good vibes. im not booking a large scale club any way, and im not booking HUGE DJs like u mentiond: Carl Cox, Tiesto, or Armin. ive been to europe every year for several months, and i love the vibe there, the mixture of club and rave culture, and thats what i wanna bring here. im starting small, and with the help of 1 relatively well known DJ on the bill, i hope that that mix of club and rave culture can get going over here too. if it doesnt, then so be it, and if i dont get exposure from the event, thats the least of my worries. thank u very much for ur words and ur concern tho, i do appreciate it. |

theres no "nubby DJ" here, im 17 have been spinning since age 10, and producing since age 12. uve never heard of me here in NYC. however, i did my first club at age 13 in Italy, and the largest gig i ever landed was to open for Mauro Picotto at this superclub in Northern italy called Cocorico. that was when i was 15. i had no connections with the club owner, whatsoever, he just thought that he had never heard any DJ spin with such an element of energy, from 15 y/o's to whatever age. im not trying to prove myself worthy or nething, nor am i trying to sound conceited, but i dont appreciate comments like that, when in fact ive spun at more festies and raves and clubs and superclubs than u, probably. none uve ever been to. lets just keep the peace tho. just because i dont have thousands of post on this site, doesnt mean i have less cred as a DJ. if you would like to speak with me, talk to me on AIM @ HUGMEIMADJ, id love to send u some of my original traxx, some that have been signed to record labels, not to mention some sets ive mixed, id love to show u what im all about ;) i didnt mean to cause trouble, ill have Silver Nrgy delete this post if its so troublesome to some of u guys... |

ehh whatever it happens.... i didnt mean to cause ne "trouble", just trying to get the word out on something im doing that hopefully mite benefit the trance scene that i love so much, in a country and city where "trance" has become such a dirty word. if ur skeptical, then check out the parties (which will be renamed, bc i DO agree with u guys in saying it shouldnt be called Sensation), and judge for urself. Kid Nyce, thank u very much for ur comments, i appreciate them, as well as any other constructive criticism ne1 has to offer, but to ne others who want do nothing but blindly doubt, theres no reason for u to give such a about this. if u dont wanna go, then dont go, but if u want to hear some great beats, and dance ur ass off, then u are more than welcome to try something new. god forbid there are any trance event posts that DONT have the words "avalon" or "glow" or "crobar" in them. check this out, it wont dissapoint ;) |
