MP3 and MD players

I own an iPod. *cough*

PEICE OF !

I dont care who says its "omg," OFF. Because you obviously dont listen to music enough to drain the battery in less than 18 months. I had mine used up in less than 8 months. Lasted me like 1 hour. Now it lasts me like 15-30 minutes.

So, I bet all of you are thinking:

"Dude, you need a new MP3 player."

And yes, I do.

So here are my choices I've come down to:

Sony MZ-N910 Minidisc Recorder:

and here too:

Now, your probably

"Why the an MD? They only hold like 80 minutes and 320 minutes of music per disc, thats roughly 160 megs!"

I agree, but this baby has 114 hours of battery life, line in, small size, external rechargeable battery, external attachable battery pack for extended play, removable media (a big en plus), lightweight, and smallest size plus the thinnest of any high-end mp3/md player (except for the sony mz-n10)

When it comes to battery life, im a en psycho. I need as much as possible. Plus i used to have an MD, and i loved it. Too bad i sold it to get an iPod (what a mistake).

Now, onto my second choice:

Cowon iAudio M3L:

and:

Specs:

20GB Hard drive
USB powered
Same size as iPod (basically, a few MM thicker, so i dont care)
A little bit heavier.

but, most impressive is this:

35 ing hours of battery life on an HD-MP3 player!!!!!!!!!!!! (as opposed to apples 12 hours best with its ipod, which will go way down anyways)

So now im lost.....i dont know what to do, i like and LOVE the orange MD, but the iAudio looks awesome and i love the fact that there is NO LCD screen on the unit, i just need to find out if the unit skips through artists/albums/folders by using the units main buttons instead of the remote.

The MD also costs less than half the price of the HD-MP3 player. Im thinking i should get the MD and then switch to the iAudio when prices go down, or when battery life gets better.

Can i get some help?

And no, apple loving ******s are NOT ALLOWED TO POST HERE, so off, its a peice of product, only good thing about it is the scroll wheel.

and it's ub3r sexcii :tongue2

you can find some info about this stuff here. (not much discussion about hd-mp3 players though)

looks like cost is your primary concern, as such i'd go with the md until the price of the hd- drops. of course, you could be waiting a while... comes down to whether you're willing to wait i suppose.

cost isnt really THAT big of an issue, its more so reliability in the long run. i had my old MD for 2 years and the battery died RARELY, like, once a month, IF that.

i like the iAudio, a lot in fact, but im worried the battery will up like with the ipod. if there was a slider where u could take out the battery and pop in another one, thatd be ing killer.

as for waiting, well, i wont wait a year, but like, a few months or something, im supposed to be going to poland next year for the summer, so im gonna need something that can last me more than 30 hours. with the MD im sure to get PLENTY which is why i want it. if worst comes to worse, i might even end up getting both. LOL

i've had 2 minidisk players within the last 5 years. Batttery life is great and they are durable ( i've droped mine serveral times and only barely scratched it; my friend had an ipod, dropped it while jogging on a dirt trail - broke)
My only concern for the MD player is the usb transfer rate but i'm sure it's not a problem anymore

i'm thinking about investing in a 1 gb usb jump drive w/the audio player. I have no specs on the battery life of audio quality

zen = too big, too bulky, too heavy, and for that size, it should last a lot longer than what it lasts now. so its a no go. (although it is nice)

Hah dont get the Zen if you care about reliability, they last half as long as an Ipod. I'd go with one of the new Hi-MD players, which are like ordinary MDs except they have new 1 GB discs, which holds a lot more tunes :) I dont know the info on the polish(?) sony site (if there is one) but here's a link to the aussie one, it should help.

(They also act as USB harddrive and all that jizz and can record to uncompressed .wav files)

get an iriver, its all about hardware encoders
