In the flesh, d!abolic would've had his ass kicked 50 times by now or at the very least had the door slammed in his face. Just because it's "the internet" doesn't mean anyone should have to put up with that kind of behaviour. |
But you must realize that the same would be true for many other members on this board, including yourself, and probably me too. There are always people in life whose personalities aren't to your liking. I don't particularly enjoy the crazy right-winged political undertones in many of the posts you make... nor do I enjoy when you whine about Canada and it's taxes and our welfare system and everything else. Nevertheless, I respect your right to make these comments, and I expect that people respect my comments as well, even if they don't agree with them.
It's not like Jayx and D!abolic are going around saying "DigiNut is an who eats and s children!" They're not doing anything illegal, and they're not harming anybody. Big deal if D!abolic is a testosterone-driven egotist. If he was really doing something terrible, I could see your point, but in this case, you're justing picking on him because you feel you're superior to him. Nobody's forcing you to read his comments, but you don't have a right to stop the rest of us from enjoying his immaturity.
If you don't like the atmosphere of the forum because of the individuals within it, then you can either stop being such an elitist or you can find a new community. The community isn't going to change just because you want it to. Learning to deal with other people is part of growing up. If you can't handle it, then you shouldn't be participating in these types of groups.
Edit: I also disagree with your last comment. I've met plenty of people in real life that have annoyed me, but I've never resorted to kicking their asses or slamming doors in their face. It's all about losing the arrogant, elitist attitude and being tolerant. |

:haha: Good one, "crazy right-winged political undertones" - my god, it's hard to believe there are people out there who actually think there's anything even remotely right-wing about my politics.
Regardless, I don't ing know you and neither does anyone else on this forum so kindly stfu and don't call me an "elitist", because you don't know me. I'm getting tired of the arrogant people write on this forum ANONYMOUSLY, as if anyone knows or cares what some stranger thinks. If 9 out of 10 people told me that I needed to behave better, I'd give it some serious thought, but as it stands I don't really care if there are a few commie cranks like you who don't like my politics (it's more than balanced out, I assure you). This is not a comparable situation at all, seeing as how:
a) I don't start 5 threads a day on my petty bull
b) I actually post about music and the scene
c) I actually post about things relevant to this city
d) I don't have 50 people telling me every day to get lost.
You can see the problem with your logic here. Same goes with guys like Vivid Boy, who might irritate some people every now and then but generally don't get in people's faces or clutter up the forum with their crap to the point of really truly exasperating others.
This has nothing to do with me feeling "superior to him", this has to do with the fact that he has pissed off almost everyone here, and in the real world, when you piss people off, they don't want to listen to you or spend any time with you. Is that so hard for people to understand? If we had a proper ignore feature whereby we could actually eliminate his presence, that would be fine, but we don't, hence we are in effect forced to put up with his nonsense and many of us would prefer not to. THAT is why we've posted in this thread. |

What you are saying makes sense. My problem with what you are saying is that you've elected yourself as the voice of the people, using the word "we". Sure it's apparent that most people feel a certain way about diabolic/jayx1/whoever...but really, you should speak for yourself, because you can't be guaranteed that everyone feels the same way you do. Unless of course you got together with everyone and discussed it, and they all agreed you could speak for them. Stop being a wuss and stand on your own. My mom has a book called "The Gift of Fear". Says in there somewhere that using words like "we", "our", "us", "they" etc, are the words of controllers...people who are essentially just afraid. Of what I do not know, that's your problem :p.
I'm sick tonight, I have nothing better to do. I still think strippers and mud wrestling is a good idea. And I could really use some liquoring up. |

This idea is useless without concrete arrangements. Are you making them, or are you just playing on people's [apparent] horniness?

Oh and: I'm not trying to speak for everyone by using the word "we", but I am indeed speaking for MANY people whom I HAVE spoken with about it, so I understand where you're coming from but you're reading too much into it. |
