Everyone's right. IE is garbage. That's why Service Pack 2 has all those warnings built-in, so people can actually get a choice before installing viruses, spyware or adware onto their machines.

As an app in an of itself, it's just a resource hog. I once was doing some file transfers and I had IE open. Computer was moving awful slow, and I had no spyware so I ran up the task manager. Processes going at 99%. I killed iexplore.exe from the list and everything went back to normal. Sheesh...

We sometimes have to settle for just enough removal that the client can get their work done. In worst case scenarios, we just replace their computer. Similarly, if spyware is overwhelmingly bad, then a Windows reinstallation might be the best option.

Same at our place...

10-1 those are all cookies (they register as a file).
There's only 5 modules so it really looks a lot worse than it is...

Yeah, Ever since Installing Service Pack 2, It finally tells you when some active x thing thats not certified by Microsoft wants to install, You can always cancel it, Plus that popup blocker it comes with works really well.

dont worry about that ;)

I find it pretty good, as long as you use adaware along with it... I finally found out that the reason why I couldnt delete them was because they were being use while I was scanning, wich means they are activated the moment you turn on your computer...pure harrassment:whip:

I finally managed to CTRL-ALT-DELete their ass, and think I got them all.. *sigh*

This reminds me... I need to make a scan myself, been a while ago :)
I doubt I will get anywhere near that number though :eyes:
