| i wish there was a display of pitch on every TT..it makes pitch bending a lot more easier as you know exactly where to set it back :) |

first off, no it doesn't, because while the pitch display might be digital, the actual pitch is analog, so while it may say +2.1 before you bend, and the same after, that doesn't neccesarily mean it's in the same place.
second, a better way to do it is to just put your finger nail right where the pitch was. then move the pitch, and move it back to where it was.
same technique works on the faders and crossfaders really well too. |

| i got a tt500 and i don't like the tonearm. i think it's aluminum but dang it feels like flimsy plastic. other then that i don't see a problem with it except that i had to buy a phono amp to use it on my line channel. |

Yep, if you'll notice, you can move the pitch slider a small amount and not change the display reading. Yes, it helps to get it back in the neighborhood, but chances are it won't be spot on. |

All turntables give out a weak signal and need to be amped up...thats what mixers are for? :toocool: |

how are you liking that setup? it looks like im gonna go for the second ttx and have a matching pair and i want ur mixer but i dont feel like spending 1000 bucks CDN on it so i guess my pmc 05 pro II will have to do for now. How are you liking the mixer? any complaints? |

If you had to pitch bend then why would you want to put it back in the same spot? |

Agreed, if you have to pitch bend you are not in the right place to start with.
Personally I don't even like the Numarks and I think the functions on them are purely gimicky as they don't actually work 100%. If the display doesn't actually show truly what pitch is then there it's not really any more use than the numbers on the technics.
You have more than enough torque on a 1200, don't really see the point of having more. Maybe other DJs feel they need it? That's their choice.
The fact that they keep the key while you make adjustments... that technology does not really work either. Can do funny things to beats etc. And you don't need it. Choose your tunes well and get good at making corrections and you wont hear them anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking anyone who likes this deck or wants to use it. But in my own personal experience it just does not live up to the performance that you can expect from any of the Technics 1200s.
I have always felt that whenever I see a Numark setup the first thing that pops into my head is 'bedroom DJ'. Perhaps it's just a stigma that I have but it's always there.
I never really encounter them in the clubs I work in but I have used them in private functions and illeagal parties.
Numark's marketing strategy is clearly aimed at the bedroom DJs as so many of their tools are geared towards trying to make you sound like the guys who can really spin. They also offer you a lot more features than perhaps a Technics deck (which may be a good thing) but the more you cram onto a deck, if you are going to stay within the price range you have to cut corners somewhere (Not saying that the Techs aren't overpriced). They may well stand the test of time, and it would definately be a good thing if Techs had some serious competition as they seem a bit arrogant lately, blatantly obvious in the new Technics CDJ (pile of horse ) too pricey and just does not compete with the Pioneer. I just don't think that the Numark is the deck that will do it.
The Mk5 is a waste of space in my opinion too, again not worth the money but then I love the old 1200s Mk II.
Just my opinion.

thanx but didnt help me much... just left me more confused.
also to the people voting, look at my situation also, i alreaady have a ttx and would be mixing with 2 different turntables and have an unmatched set which is a factor. |

I don't know how that left you confused. Nem pointed out many great advantages of using just plain ol' Technics decks. Now days, more and more people are becoming anti-technics (which is fine for them), but it's that whole "go against the norm" attitude.
The TTX1 is a great deck I am sure, no personal experience with it. Do whatever you think will fit you best. Everyone comes on here asking everyone else's opinion, but that won't get you anywhere. We are all DJs (for the most part) and very opinionated at that. You're going to hear completely opposite testimonies 100% of the time when you ask a question like this.....
