| it left me confused cuz after he shows his argument against the ttx, he says "The Mk5 is a waste of space in my opinion too, again not worth the money" so which would he get lol? |

Technics SL 1200/10s MkII in case you weren't paying attention! :)
The M3Ds are good but not made any more.
The point to my arguement is really that I wouldn't recomend either deck and would say to stick with the Mk IIs as they are better value for money and all you need to get really good with.
Cheers

| I don't know why techs 1200 mkii are so expensive, I don't know how such old technology (prob made with the same machinery from 1810) can be so expensive, I'm sure they would be able to sell it for half the price and make more profit because they would sell more. |

as a previous mk2 owner and a former ttx one....i would say go for the ttx.....i havent regreted anything till they day i swapped them....
the mixer is ok,the fx are CF fx so u have to move the cf to hear them.its a nice mixer for its money , but i would like to move on to get the nuo5 or the new denon soon ;>
go for ttx.....you wont regret it..
ps: new setup includes serato scratch live:) |

i dont use the bpm counter, i use the pitch display ie .5% its just easier to know how exact you are where as on the mk5 u are just guessing what pitch change u made. im used to the display since my cdjs had them, but i never use the bpm counter since they arent very accurate anyway. |
every deck under the sun has a pitch display, namely the scale next to the pitch fader :)
you can actually switch off the display on the ttx can't you?
back on topic, i would get a matching deck. the ttx is a great deck, easily as good as a mk3 or mk5, although the longevity of the ttx is still an unknown, but as donald rumsfeld (sp?) so cleverly put it, its a known unknown...
sure the technics will hold their value better, but who cares, you shouldn't be paying that much for a deck you arn't going to keep anyway ;) |

i would go for the mk5 tbh
the problem with the ttx is that u can only pitch in 0.1% steps which is a problem often imho. when i mixed on a friends ttx i had that problem very often... 0.1% slower was too slow and 0.1% faster was too fast... also the ttx doesnt look so good imo ;P
and the technics have the best...err... whats the word in english :conf: the manual says "wow and flutter" :) i hope u guys know what i mean ;)
so..i would deffo go for the technics |

That's only the pitch display, the pitch is fully analog. You've just pushed the pitch too much. |
