I've heard Marco V's remix of "Loops & Things" live at the Guv before, twice I think. Rank 1 played it in April (Piet even posted the tracklist from that night too, search the forum!) and the week after at Decadence, Armin dropped it too! :D
It's a killer tune to say the least! :) |

I'm so glad I went for this at the last minute. Got to Guv at 1, just in time to hear Marco V. It had been a while since I've heard him play..lemme just tell you...he never fails to impress. He played a much harder set. Left early, at about 4:30ish (still tired from last weekend), but totally worth it.
Highlights of the night: Need to feel loved (I have no idea which mix, but a ing hard mix); Flaming June (mudblood) - I just could not believe my ears; My own worst enemy; and this one other vocal track he played around 1:30-1:45..., no one could id this track...
btw, RJ, you totally missed an awesome set by Marco V..oh well next time. |

finally since march i've taken some time off,
so i HAD to resist going to see this show....
but i REEEEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLLY wanted to go, was tuff
2 resist, but i did it - WHOOPY! (sarcastic)....
glad marco didnt disappoint and that u all had fun:D |

Not much left to say that hasn't been said already. Tried posting earlier this morning, but the computer froze up mid-post :whip: and I wasn't in the mood to re-write it all after that, til now.
It was obvious that many people were still recovering from the week before, as there was a bit more room to dance this week (a rare treat). Twas great to have an 'empty-ish' club for a good while, but when it fills up, it fills up fast! But the hardcore were there to represent, none the less. I was fighting a tough head cold, and still went. I think it was a good thing I did, as I think I sweat most of the germs out at the club.
Big thanks to Shaya for getting us up into the booth to say hi to Marco & meet his wife, who is a sweetie. Graham 'tricked' Marco with his signature Irish handshake again, which made for a good laugh, and Marco busted him back too.
Graham: 'blah, blah, blah.. cuz I'm from Ireland, you see'
Marco: "No!!!!! Really???" (sarcasm)
Me: 'Graham has to tell EVERYONE he's from Ireland, a million times over....':haha:
Don't even know what to say about The Devil from Acapulco... I wonder how he explains that outfit at customs!
Set went like:

w/ vocals from 'The Prophet' (movie sample)
I think Mark O's shout out "Show some hate for the Devil" only further complicated the situation. The crowd didn't know whether to clap or what, lol! Left a few songs after that. As much as I love MO's closing sets, the last few times I have been there I've been unable to stay for them for 1 reason or another. :(
Great time was had on the dance floor with all u TA's, ya know who u are. Nice to see u again Guvaholic, Obe, & Alex (the professional lurker). Shout outs to the gay TA posse on the dance floor- you guys are always so much fun to party with. Jenn, if you're reading this, lets get those pics of Dan over to him for proof. Nice surprise to wake up and have chanoa & cereal---- (andrea & steve) over at our place with Frank.

marco played a short set last time he was here @ Ultra Spin 6 or 7.i cant remember...so it was nice to have him to ourselves in that main room for atleast 3hours....Having heard his Essential mix a few days prior to this party and NOT being overly impressed by a new hard progressive style he showed in the first half of that set, i was looking forward to some hard pounding tech-trance. Instead Marco greeted the main room with more of the same...interestingly enough..unlike the EM..i thouroughly enjoyed this first hour..sounded so much better on that Phazon. Some of his tracks were 'bordering' on Tribal house..so it was very interesting. An hour into it tho...he cut the music into a superb mix of "Origiene - Sanctuary" and from here on it was vintage Marco V....the BPM probably jumped more than a few notches as the guv started to pulsate with his energy. Its about this time that i started feeling ty..so went to sit down with funkyfun...very nice of you to sit for so long ash...you didnt have to do that. We sat on the stage and enjoyed every bit of marco's onslaught on the crowd...AutoManual --- Bang Bang --- Looped and relooped --- Flaming June --- BLUE MONDAY!!!!!!!!!..are just some of the awesome tracks he threw down for us....
After Marco V, there was a special guest performer...they called him "THE DEVIL"..he was from panama, or brazil or something...if anyone remembers the old hard house anthems that 666 used to throw down (Dance with the devil --- Alarma --- PartyALarm...etc etc)..we were treated to about 20 mins of raw energy from this scary looking man. (he was dancing while mark spun what looked like a pre recorded set.) It was great cuz the devil guy was mouthing all the words..timed to perfection..and there were ALOT of lyrics..so it was a fun 20 mins...we left soon after as Mark went into some Nice techno..
Completely sober night...extremely painful night....
but so worth it...

for all the prog heads... James holden @ system sound bar on friday night. SHould be awesome....
