I've wondered, for a while now, what we'll think about our current happenings of today in 100 years time. We have this whole "War on Terrorism" happening, and has been on the cards since the 11th of September 2001... are we going to look back in history and see that day as the beginning of World War III???
Perhaps it's been WWIII since 9/11, but for obvious reasons we steer clear of that title... and with no signs of abating, after already two odd years of war, will we see history proclaim this time to be a period of world war?
Obviously we're not yet at the same chaotic stages similiar to that of 1944, but who would've though it wouldve got that bad, back in the first months of the war in 1939??
Are we going to see a similar reoccurrence of history? |

| Itll be much more "blurry" compared to having 400,000 troops vs 500,000 on a continent. No war is ever the same but history will tell. |

| well, some believe that WWIII started back in 1990 with the first gulf war. I think what we are seeing is the beginning of Islam vs. christianity again which is going to involve a lot of everyone. Not sure how China would enter into the picture but I'm sure they'll manage to. |

It’s people like you with that exact thought that makes this assumption you make right, because every day new people start to believe this bull.
Not EVERY Moslim is in conflict with every Christian, and i doubt it that the Terrorism of these days is really focused against the religion. |

I never said muslims did I? You assumed that. I said Islam. There are many muslims who do not strongly believe in Islam or in other words are not Islamic fundamentalists. There even christian muslims. Those who are Islamic and understand and truly follow the faith are by their very religion against christians and want them destroyed. All 'western' cultures actually. And technically everyone who does not believe in Islam even other muslims. What a nice peaceful religion eh?
Btw-I am not a war monger and this isn't bull. You need to study Islam and learn for yourself what their religion is about. Their religion pits them against us. Ours didn't pit us against them.
So many people in the world even in USA are still only seeing the small picture and merely thinking of sept 11. You have to look at the roots of those terrorist acts which are about the Islamic faith. Bush calls this a 'war on terror' but what he is saying really is that it is a war against Islam. When you only focus on Saddam and WMD ect ect you are only looking at the small picture. This war is way bigger than any one man or even group of men. it's against an entire violent belief system that would terrorize the western world.
Yet it impossible for US and the coalition to destroy an entire beleif system and Bush knows this. That is why making Iraq a sucessful democracy is so important. The spread of democracy in the middle east is capable of breaking down the Islamic belief system. That is Bush's vision. Similar to Reagan's vision of Soviet Union.

| Actually, many consider the Cold War to have been WWIII. We are now engaged in WWIV. WWIII essentially ended with the tearing down of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. |

Dude, I really don't mean offense but I think you need to do a hell lotta research before you come up talking about anyone's religion like that. First off I'd like to inform u that whatever you are sayin is total BS. I am a Muslim and Im proud of it. I follow my religion and understand it very deeply. And BY NO means at all .. and I repeat by NO means at all does Islam promotes terrorism or promotes war against Christianity. I have enough proof to back me up and seriously I think people need to stop watchin FOX news because of the bull they propogate against Islam or anything foriegn. For those who think that Islam is against Christianity.. they need to do some research on the word ISLAM itself. We believe in peace and spread the word thru peace.. not in killing people senselessly like those sons of bitchez did on 9/11. Seriously Islam and Christianity share alot of Ideas and basic beliefs. It's just like a nation.. in every nation you'll find people that disgrace that nation itself instead of helping it. I'm pretty sure you'll some extremist christians, jews and hindus too but that does mean that Christians, Hindus and Jews are terrorists? No.. Oh btw Technolover... again Do some heavy research before you even talk about Islam. :) |
