permanent damage are often not instant, unless it is really severe. you hearing will deteriorate as you age, just like everyone else, but yours will be much much faster. expect yourself to be half deaf by late 40s |

this has started to bug me lately coz each time i get back from guv my eyes are ringing, sometimes for two days. its damn annoying.
i just hope that i dont go deaf before im 25. and to think that damage can be done in a matter of minutes is scary. |

| I can notice some hearing changes also, but I don't like the idea of wearing earplugs out. I am only in the guv once every 2 months tops, you regulars must be close to hearing impared !! |

I wear earplugs whenever possible at clubs now. I saw tatgirl post a message about those free earplugs @ Guv awhile ago and always get em there. Otherwise if I do not have plugs, I try to at least stay in areas where the sound wont harm as much.
Doing either of the above is 100x better than permanent hearing loss. I highly doubt that even the most expensive medical treatments today or in the near future will bring it back. Just not effin' likely.
The fact that I have trouble hearing a few higher frequencies now at my young age of 20 bothers me greatly. I can't tolerate any more accellerated loss. |

the biggest problem is when you are sitting in a very quiet place, and you can hear ringing.
i have that. when ever i am in the can at home, i can hear ringing, thats when i knew i had done damadge |

Ya that is totally the worst when ur in bed or somethign and u hear that dull ringing or a high pitched sound man im sure ive done damage cause i frequently get that. But clubs are not the only place with loud music when ever i got my discman or even back in the day walkman its always been on as loud as can be, im sure that has some affect on my hearing as well as loud car systems. Plus i work in high levels of sound frequency but its mandatory to wear ear plugs there. I think im just gonna steal a box from shop and have'em just in case |

yeah iguess people here are forgetting their discmans, and portable audio players.
I made sure to get the mp3 player with the highest possible sound quality, and good headphones, so when i listen, there is no distortion, other than that coming from the actualy mp3 itself. i found the good mp3 player made a huge difference |

What mp3 player would that be?
Im running a Sony MZ-N10 MD player. Quality is great with its Dolby sound processor. I've tried other mp3 players and they sound like garbage. Heck even the iPod has distortion when you put the eq presets on. |
