I know, I think jayx1 forgot you need a lower and middle class in order to have a higher class...its impossible to just not have a lower class in this country. |

I have to agree with jayx1, there are many programs for homeless etc, just they refuse to take advantage is not my problem, since its my and everyone else work money that goes in taxes to support these bums.
Diabolic - Truely inspirational, just keep in mind there are all types of people who like to put you down and think they are the best, just ignore, which you seem to be enjoying and love reading it .LOL

im referring to homeless people, NOT people who are working. And evidentally, if you can afford to feed yourself and house yourself you are NOT poor.
Im sick of the 1st world definition of poor as in "i cant afford to go to mexico this year because im poor" |

Sorry, my definition of poor people involves owning little and next to nothing and barely able to pay for the social standard of living. Homeless people cant afford the standard of living so they belong in their own seperate group away from the lower class (considering how can homeless people be a class to begin with? they dont pay taxes or make real money, they dont own a thing). You said your tired of this 1st world definition of poor, which you adequately defined FOR US (to begin with), thats is not what I consider poor, I know poor, my family has had to endure a "poorer" standard of living when they first came here. Poor just means, money is extremely tight and you have to save every penny to make sure your basic needs are met, whether you choose to further or stagnant your economic status. |

| Sorry to bring it to you, but most bums make more than most people here. I used to work at a place downtown and they'd come in to buy food with the money they made and tell me stories. I think the average for a healthy, strong male in his mid-30's is $150-200 a day. The average for an older lady is 2-3 times as much. So yeah, those old hags you see on the streets make $2500 in a 5-day "work-week." Shaky Lady anyone? And i know this is hard to believe, but do the math. If they're on the streets for 14 hours, that's 840 minutes. All it takes is ONE PERSON A MINUTE (which is NOTHING on busy downtown streets) to drop some coins in the cup (assuming they drop around 50c) for the old lady to make $500 a day! |

Hm.. I guess then, that some of them just like freezing their asses off during cold winder nights..
In anycase, different people have different talents. And a lot of people are plain stupid. This sounds harsh - but it's true. Simply being hard working is not enough to be rich. |
