Jeff man, I thought for sure you weren't gonna go down cuz you were sick.
I was sure no one was gonna be down there so I didn't go. That and the fact that the progression of my night lead me completely back home and I didn't feel like taking the 'vomit comet' in reverse to begin a night out.
Glad it was good tho, I've been wanting to hear demi for a while, I've heard nothing but good things.

wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

demi was a fantastic dj. from the time he started till the time i left it was non stop beats. good baselines, good melodies, some pretty good vocals, and holy his mixing skills were top notch. behind the decks he was great. non stop dancing and playing with the crowd. defenitely a good dj to watch.

the usual boa crowd was out. really good organization from staff and bouncers. never had a problem or even saw anything.

had a good little ta crew. its nice to see the t.a boa peeps as always. but graham, you would have thoroughly enjoyed your self last night.

ray

ohh yeah. hahahahaha. there was a guy that looked exactly like rick james. wish i had a camera...

Lastnight was absolutely incredible. To know that we have a dj of this calibre as a bi-monthly resident in a club where he can truly display his skills on the decks is something special. Ive seen Demi rock it out at Boa before, but last night i think he proved that he is no longer an "up and coming"......he's risen to a status of superstar in my books.

The night started out with me arriving to the club around 1am, with a bunch of girls from my company. We had a quarterly party that evening, so i was a little on the hammered side upon arrival. We were graciously greeted by Rony at the doors, and the girls were shocked that a club owner actually cares about the people who frequent his place of business. Class as always. We enter to Sean warming the night up as he does so well, and again, to the girls surprise, Sean comes out in the middle of his set to say his hellos.

Only slated to spin for two hours, Sean started out in his usual fashion. Mellow tempo, playing to the crowd as always. Its become a habit of mine to watch for the clock to strike 2am when he's behind the decks. Its almost seems as if purposely kicks it into second gear at this time night in and night out. He actually got to spin i believe until 3:30, which was nice since a lot of his bangers were dropped in the final half hour of his set. He closed his set, and with no hesitation, or obvious transition, on came Demi to continue what Sean had started.

I had previously been listening to Demi's set that was available for download, and was expecting to hear the same kind of sounds to start out the night. Slower tempo, groovy lounge house. My expectations were blown right the out of the water. The guy shows so much enthusiasm behind the decks, his energy is felt by the crowd, and the place was just rocking right from the get go. Started out really jumping, banging house music, and had the crowd pumping their fists throughout the night. Lots of tracks that had the crowd just jumping to the beat, and everyone was on the same page lastnight. The vibe that was created lastnight through his music is something that will be tough to match. But i believe after lastnights performance, Demi now has a dedicated following that wouldnt miss his residency for the world. The last hour of his set was blistering, harder, chuggy, and just killing everyone that was left. I grabbed my leather from coat check at 8am, and planned on leaving. Wouldnt you know, an hour later - im still there, now dancing with my coat on and basically needed to be dragged away. Truly remarkable performance, and what a call on Boa's part for snagging this guy to call their own.

Great to see the usual Boa suspects, as well some new faces.
I wont begin to try and remember all of those i spoke with lastnight i wouldnt want to hurt anyones feelings! Until next time.......

Man...I wish I could have made it, but we were out promoting next Friday's Sean Miller set in Buffalo. We'll be up for Sean & Peter Bailey that day after. I can't even sit still thinking about that!
