i'm getting m-audio audiophile usb (external) as well... as soon as I get ahold of a decent laptop that is.

Don't you have final scratch? Your supposed to be able to use that as an external sound card when the mp3 mapping program isn't running. You should look into that.

I suppose I could hook up the scratch amp to my stereo, but that's not convenient, my turn tables/FS aren't located in the same room, so I'd be connecting and disconnecting everything everytime I switch back and forth.

get external audiodigy sound quality will also improve! :)

i think its a software problems somewhere. in my experiences with laptops, the sound may be ty but atleast there is some sort of volume control and at a decent level.

if you want good quality sound as well as amplitude, go with an external card; but if you just want it louder, i suggest taking a deeper look into your comp

i bought my m-audio card at canada computers... i got the revolution 5.1 for $79... it was a STEAL... i'm sure you can find it cheap on ebay though.. but yeah.. canada computers has it for pretty cheap..

Hmm, gonna have to look into those two for under $100, never heard about the Sonica USB 5.1. It's cheaper too

well.. you're not seting up home theater or anything, haha... so multichannel stuff might be useless for you...

the transit is made specifically for laptop...

Yah, I got the transit, but I don't understand, the thing comes with a friggin 10 foot USB cable, I've never seen one that long before. It's annoying, laptops require short cables not long huge ones.
