| quote: | Rosie O'Donnell addressed a nearly vacant CLUB OVATION Saturday night in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida during a get-out-the-vote rally for Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry.
"You know, there's only like, you know, maybe 38 of us here and maybe we can just like tap a keg and put on some disco, and totally party," O'Donnell deadpanned.
The debacle came one night after only a couple hundred came out to see Cher rally for Kerry at Miami Beach's CROBAR disco.
"There were supposed to be thousands of people here tonight. I'm not sure why that didn't happen, obviously the people putting on this thing were just not very good at it," an embarrassed Cher explained to the crowd.
A top Florida Democratic party official dismissed the weak back-to-back club turnouts as any indication of voter enthusiasm for the Kerry candidacy.

| Well I think this is yet another indication that Florida is going to go republican. Not surprising because it has been a consistant republican state for quite some time (despite what the media would tell you). But then again according to this source the only two elections florida went democrat, the democrats one the election! So no wonder Kerry is spending so much time there, even to no avail it seems. |

| It's about the promotion. If it's not promoted well, then no turn-out. For John Kerry there were about 50-60,000 people in CJ-Smith Park in Pembroke Pines. I live in Florida, and I drive through Miami-Dade and Broward County's. In Florida, The three biggest counties, West Palm Beach, Broward and Miami are strongly democratic. I've see a huge John Kerry Support down here ( except for the Cubans ) .. I live in a Heavily jewish popular area.. and is heavily pro-Kerry. I should show you all the South Beach mansions with Kerry signs.. as well the Venetian. Hillary Clinton was in Coconut Grove the same night as the Crobar Event.. Im sure Hillary Clinton is lot more famous then Cher among democrats heh.. and she got a good turn-out. Watch when John Kerry and Bill Clinton come to Florida, and you will see the Base... ;) |

| I'd be less likely to vote for any candidate that was endoresed by char and rosie I think. If I were the candidate, I don't think I would let such awful celebrities near my campaign, I guess they know better now though, heheh |
