Bouncin' Ball is really an awesome track ... :toothless

and I still think the videoclip of Windowlicker is scary :nervous: but the part at the beginning with the umbrella is funny :toothless

Aphex Twin is brilliant! I listen to somewhat all of his music. There's some great bell-beats in his remix of: Buck Tick - In The Glitter Part 2, which is on the "26 remixes for Cash"-CD (His last release, or so they told me:( )

I would really like to recommend these albums:

"Drukqs" (For it's great John Cage/Eric Satie-like Piano works and its really wicked beats combined with best melodies you can get!)
::: Listen to this :::

"Richard D. James album" (His most commercial attempt: Great melodies and disturbing Lyrics)::: Listen to this melody and die hard! :::

However "I care because you Do" is less commercial, it needs attention! There's some really legendary electro-noise on it, like: "Ventolin". "The Woxen Pith" is just great, and then you got: ::: Alberto Balsalm ::: (click), OMG such an ambient/IDM masterpiece!

Don't forget to check on the Selected Ambient Works pt 1, it's simplistic, yet with a unusual touch! Ambient history has been written with it!

If you really want to know quickly how every Aphex release sounds like, then try this link! Also check the rest of the aphex sweets (short samples) in my sig, they all got different flavours;)

I disagree, but I suppose that's a matter of taste. SAW 85-92, however, isn't really ambient at all. SAW II is purer, deeper, darker and manages to be both more beautiful and more haunting.

I haven't listened to his most recent stuff. The most recent was his "I care because you do" album of about 9 years ago. His early ambient was pretty chill tho.

Whatever you do, please post a review of what you buy here b/c i'd be very interested. Cheers.

yes, I actually heard about that a few days ago. I wasn't sure if it was really Aphex, I only knew that it was a Rephlex release.

But would he ever bring out another album on CD?

Richard d james is always re-inventing himself. every album or ep that comes out it sounds diffrent but still has that afx sound. SAW - volume 2 is one of my favorites to hear.
the come to daddy EP was AWSOME!!
WINDOWLICKER WAS GREAT!!! i liked that wierd math formula track on the windowlicker EP. theres a lot going on there.. its so complex to even find out what the hell the production is behind it. ITS AMAZING

Drugqs was okay. the first CD is my favorite. The second got a bit boring. but still good. I like the piano peices though. i though that was intersting for APHEX TWIN
