sorry but i have to disagree. if tracks were made primarily for listening they wouldn't be 8 mins long.
fact of the matter is, trance/techno etc ARE made for clubs primarily, this is their prupose as far as i am concerned... there are a lot of tracks that sound e when you are sat at home listening, but when you hear them in a club.. OMG!! if they were made primarily for listening this just wouldn't be the case ;) |

Just to continue on what tu_face has said :
I listen to Askew tracks on my monitor speakers and they sound awesome. However, when his tracks are played on a club system its f#ckin insane!
Point I am trying to make is this :
IMO a ty track on your home system will only sound sh!tty in a club. However a good track on your home system will sound unreal on a club system. Especially tracks, suck as Askews, which have that pumpin bass.
IMO the differnce between an Askew track and any other heavy purcussive peice (which might just sound boring on a club system) is found in Askews ability to create a melodic feel to his tracks. Its not your typical 'boom boom ' sh!t that scares all the girls off the dance floor. Askew has a unique talent to turn a purcussive laden peice into something interesting and energetic. That is the genius behind John Askew. |

Askew is a better dj imo, the man blends techno and trance together very well and he never seems to get the credit that he deserves. I expect his dj career to get very big (if it ain't big enough already) |
I dont understand this at all, you say PvD has 'crashed and burned', you have 'dont immitate, innovate!!' written in your sig, then along comes a guy trying to emulate PvD in every possible way, in terms of production and djing & you think he deserves to 'get big' ??
Anyway his productions are good technically (for what they are) - hes massively hit and miss, but his production is tight - whoever said his powerful kick & bassline is just a matter of 'cranking the volume up' is a bit of a muppet really, opinion or not. |

You really are a muppet, this just proves that fact. PvD has crashed and burned, so what I take a song title of his and put it in my sig. I can do as I please and I think that it still good advice for today. |
