No, it's people in general. :( They did the same at College Park when the Terps beat Indiana a couple of years ago. |

Like going to a club and 'OMG'ing over every track that DJ plays? |
I use the Lord's name in vain only on a very few, highly select tracks. Also, I don't verbally attack people for disagreeing with my musical preferences. |

So it's okay for people to come together and celebrate music every weekend, but it's not okay for people to celebrate athletic competition? |

Yeah, well that is usually how I am. I've just grown tired of the way that people find it so easy to come together and celebrate a truly meaningless pastime, while their energy could actually be focused on something positive like helping people in need, making the world a better place, etc.
While I really can't or won't take back anything I said, I do want to apologize to those who I have offended as that was not my goal - sometimes it just happens that way. I suppose that I was just set off by someone disrespecting glittergirl simply because she stated that she wasn't enthusiastic about the outcome of the game (or perhaps baseball in general, I don't know.) |
Um no my comment wasnt meant for you...it was meant for BitchBoyNYC. as with a lot of things...what may be meaningless for you, holds a lot of meaning for many others.... |

You don't see people fighting over music, and you won't see anyone, anywhere rioting over their favorite DJ winning or not winning the DJmag's best DJ in the world award.
Music BRINGS people together. |

Probably because you're a bigotedly squalid jackass. Try figuring that one out. |

Your initial reaction and comment was that it was stupid for us to celebrate sports. You said nothing about fighting. |

OK OK guys. Let's stop the fighting about Baseball. Baseball is a important passtime as it is part of the history of our country. Let's argue about how the Tiesto got#1 and PVD#2 again!!!! LOL!!!
just trying to break the tension.:D |

Okay, so I just expounded on my original comments. I'm sure that I could easily conjure enough words to write a book on it but I'll forgo that route.
Anyway, I wasn't the one comparing electronica events to corporate and mass-media sponsored sports events. I would never have used such a flawed analogy.
Many people cherish their families and friendships, some cherish books and/or education or even the arts which (depending on who you talk to) includes the very same music that brings us all to this website in the first place. However, there are many twisted people out there that hold dear to themselves things such as hatred, death, destruction, malice, etc. So yeah, even those things that seem meaningless to me will undoubtedly hold meaning for others, but that doesn't automatically make them right.
It takes a hell of a lot of effort to break free from your mass-media induced programming, but you are here on TA so at least you seem to be making positive strides. Now go and read some real books and feed your brains with some actually meaningful statistics other than that RBI and ERA effluvium that keeps you and the rest of our nation in a blind stupor.
I've said my piece, so sayonara
