Ok, I think it's more that Tiesto spins stuff I don't care for anymore. I'm not feeling it... nor all his produced stuff. I think he's lost his mojo but that's just my opinion.
I actually wasn't bothered by him performing at the opening ceremony of the Olympics because it gives some sort of notoriety to EDM.
Just that I don't enjoy myself as much listening to Tiesto as others.
Most breaks on a CD sounds a little too slow or soft for me but in the club, James Zabiela was wicked awesome. That's my take on that. |

I'm not really surprised w/ tiesto, ferry, armin pvd, etc...those names were expected to get many votes
What caught my eye was the HUGE jump for Chris Lawrence. He was really popular several years ago and then his name seemed to fade away. People began to write him off. Boy did he come back up...he must have toured like crazy. He deserves it |

| You guys are pretty silly do you think this list really amount to skill level? No it's more of a popularity contest.... BT sucks as a dj and he made the list? Why? Because he is popular... As far as zabiela goes I dont even know how he made it to the top 20... When i saw him at arc the place was anything but packed..... And im sure Crobar wasnt the only non packed club he went too... Though i love the guy i dont see how he made the this top 20 list...... same goes for hernan...... but the top 5 are exactly as i predicted... |

Well DJ Tiesto has fallen off, he play some of the same he was playing 2 years ago Holden Vs Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning mix) and Traffic and also Just Be had some that where really played out.
I really like Tiesto before but now that guy sickens me. He took like 40 minutes just to play. There was like 4 guys fixing the way he want the table and stuff set. Also everywhere he goes it ends up way to packed. Paul Van Dyk deserved hit the Number 1 spot because as some of you know how much he sucked to me in 2003/beginning of 2004. But he really improved this summer and he still banging the right stuff.
As for Markus hes only lucky he hit the 32 spot since know one really knew him.He only did gigs in Miami.I really wanted to see Marcel Woods get up there.btw Rach is owned by Tiewato |

amen.
also, i know this isn't a skill poll.. its a popularity poll.
then again, they should rename the poll to TOP 100 most popular djs, not top 100 djs as in the best in the world =) |

yeah most of these guys aren't skillful enough. Plus they should have different catergorys.
Like Best House DJ
Best DJ
Best Remix
Best Productions
Most Popular ----> We know that one
Most Hottest DJ |

Good idea, I like that. They give you a glimpse with the highest rising DJ & highest entry, but it could be expanded to include things like you mentioned. That would be interesting just for discussion.
For technical skills, I think it should come from the people within the industry then who might have a better idea what's going on behind the decks. I have a decent sense of it (Cokenfold and his massive trainwrecks) but I wouldn't consider myself an expert. |

Its a neverending discussion but i have to put in my .02. ....As far as Tiesto goes, I can see where you have formed your opinion, however... put yourself in the guy's shoes. Yeah, he's gotten alot more "popular" or "commercial" or whatever you want to dub him as.. but its for a REASON. Like you said.. ISOS, Magik,TE, have led him up to this point. And the reason why he stays popular, and continues to stay that way is BECAUSE he is not only still" concentrating on being a good and relevant dj" , its because he's got talent.. and boy do people love to hate him now that he's gotten "bigger" or w/e. He still brings the Magik every time I see him regardless IMO, but to say he's "losing track" and "not concentrating" bc of his popularity is kinda lame i think. If you were him, and people were taking more interest in your music, would you be like "NOPE! Sorry! Dont want to get more famous or further my career so people will think Im being a "sellout"!!" That sounded kinda weird lol, but I hope you sort of understand the point Im tryin to make. And btw,Im not flaming you or anything, I just think alot of people are just seeing the big picture when it comes to Tiesto. There isn't much to say about the poll except that its useless. Rating all that exceptional talent like that is OVERrated imo. |
well said. i agree 100 percent. and i still love oakenfold too. i dont see why people start hating on a DJ simply because he starts to do well. :conf: |

I really don't hate them if they get popular, there some DJ who aren't even poular who I can't stand. Reasons are first off they act like s,they play track that have been overplayed, play at stupid venues, comeout with crap ass albums and complains.
I like Armin Van Buuren,Ferry Corsten, Danny Howells and Paul Van Dyk too his lastest stuff has got to me listening alot more (ated his from 2003) plus its nice when they actully put in there little review of the nite whether is on there album or when there are club. |
