| Do you guys think they will make another GTA? I think the next one should be set in the early 1900's, similar to the Tom Hanks movie "Road to Perdition." What do you guys think? |

| hmmm.. jackin ppl for their carriages and horses.. i don't know. That would take the whole concept out of the name "Grand Theft Auto". Not unless you're talkin about the 1930's or so on. But dman thats crappy cars. |

| Yes, I am talking about the 1930 era. You know with gangsters, etc. I think it would be cool. |

Sounds like a dandy idea. Maybe the dialogue would go something like this...
Palsy(your boss): "Salutations Rickets, whaddya think of that looker there?"
Rickets(main character): "She's got a nice pair of gams on her she does."
Palsy: "Sure 'tis. Now I want you to go ovah to the first national and snatch the next shipment from old blue eyes, see?"
Rickets: "That's a capital notion Palsy, and besides, i'm already on the lam any way you slice the bread."
This thing writes itself. |

Actually if any of you have played mafia it was a very good game with a similar feel in many ways to a GTA (in fact i think the graphics were better and the city in many ways had a better feel than GTA). Mafia was set in the 1930s-1950s. The cars were definetely slower than in GTA and perhaps a lot of the little kiddies wouldn't enjoy the older weapons like tommy guns, etc. I think it would be cool though.
70s might be cool too, you could do a parody of that movie called "The Warriors"(if any of you remember it) from the 70s with all the weird gangs. Lot of famous muscle cars in the 70s but many less.
I think as you go further and further back you appeal to less people. Vice City was so big because the majority of gamers remember that era. |

I don't think it will revolutionize the PS2, since this is the last of the trilogy for the PS2. The next release of GTA will be for the PS3 and will revolutionize gaming as we know it. Ok, maybe not that crazy, but surely it will completely out do this one. I can only imagine the actors/people that will be put into this game. I mean to have Samuel L Jackson and Chris Penn play to supporting roles in a video game is incredible enough.
I agree, that a 70s or futuristic setting would be cool for the next version. In the meantime, I get to be gangster on San Andreas! |
