The Price of Liberty

| I had to go vote at the american consulate this morning (in Toronto). After getting there an hour early (I forgot to change the time on my alarm clock after daylight savings time), I get all my crap done there but they tell me that I have to courier my ballot to MY polling station, which is in California.. and it has to be there by tomorrow. So it looks like the price of liberty and freedom in the US is $28.92. Bollocks to that! |

If you are voting Kerry, I plead that you send your ballot!!!!
I think out of the two, Kerry should win, and he needs all the votes he can get. Please send it! |

Haha, no i'm not voting for kerry.. the avatar and sig are just a clever disguise :conf: :conf:
I'm registered in California, and kerry is going to win there easily.. but i'm still sending in my vote.. I'm actually getting it couriered from the firm i work at. That way it gets deducted from my paycheck, instead of having to pay for it upfront. |

But, I voted for who I thought would be the best President. Isn't that what the whole point of it is? I couldn't give a rat about whether or not my vote counts or not - if you have that sort of defeatist attitude, you might as well not vote at all.
I'm not into 'choosing sides' in order to make the next leader of the Executive branch - it's people like you who proliferate the strictly 2-party system of Government the US has, and by many accounts, people are very sick of all that bull...t00l. |

I'm not a "defeatist".. I'm just a realist.
Do you think your "candidate" will even get enough votes to ensure funding from the government for his party (5%).. yeh didn't think so. Vote for whomever you want, but there is no escaping the two party system until legislation changes it. Fat chance of that happening. No, the US doesn't have a perfect democracy, that's why you have to make your vote count. It has been described as the lesser of two evils, but really you are voting for a party and it's policy, not for a specific candidate. |
