The TIC2 DVD?
View this Thread in Original format

I know its early but are there any details on the tiesto in concert 2 DVD, or even if there is going to be one. Saw some pics of the night and it looked incredible. And if there have been any other DVDs associated with trance in general. I really think that the DJs should follow Tiesto by releasing DVDs on there own. I already have the original, another day at the office, AMerican massive(sucks), and trance exerperience(really sucks). Just wondering.

Coming out the 3rd of December in Europe... I think it'll just be a mash-up of the best parts from all 3 TICs

Might be out a bit later in the US tho..

Again, I'm going to point out that Tijs only sees a fraction of the money. They need a way to pay for the people who worked at the event, who worked on the DVD, to pay for the rights to put various songs on the DVD and sell it, for the production of the DVD itself, for the stadium rental, for the cost of live performers such as the choir, the drummers, the magician, Cirque de Soleil, and also for the equipment (stage, lighting, etc.).

If you're going to flame, at least do it with some sort of factual base.

So then do enlighten me...

ID&T are the ones in charge of this whole production. Where do they get the money for all of this? And don't say from other events, because the money they get at Mysteryland, Innercity, etc. goes to pay for the DJs, the stage, the venue rental, and to pay for those who worked at the event.

It's a proven fact that, even from CD sales, the artists see only a fraction. The money has to go for production of the DVD, and everything surrounding that.

Get off of your Tijs-bashing horse and learn the facts before you make a baseless flame.

"Stupid DJ fees" and royalties from his releases are the way he gets his money. This is his profession after all.

fact is music artists only see about one dollar for every CD they sell (if that much) and aproximatley $2.25 for every DVD they sell....doesn't matter whether you are DJ Tiesto or Madonna....

Have you ever heard of a little something called "over-head"?

well i aint tiesto-bashing, but what you just said is simple business. the revenue goes to cover the expenses. the difference goes to tiesto and other involved parties(id&t). if there wasnt any money in it, the dvd would not be released, simple.

why do you think that movie companies are now purposly shortening some bad movies in the theatres? because they know by releasing an "extended" version on dvd, they can make more revenue, there fore more profits.

btw - they are not going to use the money from the dvd to pay for the concert, that would just be BAD economics. the ticket price itself helps pay for the concerts(stage crew, choir, drummers)

the dvd revenue pays for the dvd expenses!!

I'm not denying that he's not commercial. Please, find where I said, "Tijs is still an underground DJ!!!!ONE"

Stop and think for a minute. Where do they get the funding for all of this? It's not like they have a huge $1,000,000,000 vault where they pull money from whenever they want to put on an event. ID&T gets a ton of the money. It's also been proven that artists see barely any of the money from CD and DVD sales.

If I'm wrong, then answer this...

1.) They had to pay for the multiple live acts, including Cirque de Soleil, and the person who's considered Holland's most prominent magician.

2.) They had to rent the arena. That costs money.

3.) They had to build a tremendously large set for this event. Not mentioning the lighting companies they had to pay to set-up the lighting for the stadium, and the fireworks-professionals.

4.) They have to pay royalites to put the music on the DVD and release it, otherwise putting it out there would be illegal.

5.) They have to pay people who worked behind the scenes at the event.

6.) They have to pay for the people to spend their time working on the DVD and producing it. They also have to pay for the physical production/pressing of the DVD itself, which no doubt will sell quite a few copies.

Now that you've had a look at that, where does all of the money for that come from?
