This music will be the death of me.

The poor quality is compounded by the lack of originality, repetitive film clips, mega popularity especially among the youngerr crew, the way it has taken over nightclubs, the crap artists, the hype, yeah, I hate it.

So who started it all.

Was it MC Hammer?

There's only one answer
greed
money
the principle of "working for 5 min and getting paid for 5 years"
it all comes down to that in the end

and most people are sheep, they keep supporting it
go figure, it's a neverending circle... or cycle :D

Does it make me racist if I just hate black culture?

Well if you want to blame someone then I guess Afrika Bambataa and Zulu Nation with others would have to go. They should'nt have tried to make social comments on the injustices in their world . Then you had people like Eric B and Rakim who pushed the envelope, I mean they were not thinking right either (were they?). Then you had Dre,B.I.G, Tupac and others, I mean they really started a bad thing.

If you honestly want to blame people, then I think you are narrow minded. The US had a decent sized black population and they like Rap, Hip Hop and other genres, so they are wrong I guess. Actually the real people that are pushing this stuff is middle class white kids, take a look at Eminem or Jay-Z's concerts. Then you have radio that plays what the public wants, so you see the vids. If you don't like it then so be it but I would not blame anyone, if it was not selling, you would not see it on top 40 radio. If you hate it, then turn up your trance.

I don't like a lot of urban music but I respect artists that create it because they are using their talents and making a living out of it.

not really. the mainstream mtv bull hip hop is the worst form of music on this earth. i just hate that such ty music is the most popular stuff in this country. oh well though. more room for us to dance.

Don't point the finger at Afrika Bambaataa. Rap music was good back during the days of the Zulu Nation, Public Enemy, etc. Back then the lyrics had meaning aside from I'm a demigod, which is popular among many hip hop artists these days. The industry has become more about the ego and less about the music. I think the finger should be pointed at the-D-the-i-the-d-the-d-the-y-the-d-the-i-the-d. That's "Diddy."

ummm it was a sarcastic reply to a stupid question imo. Of course it had meaning back then, I said it was a social comment on injustice that they felt. I think you can't blame anyone, if it sells, companies will supply it.
