Whats your opinion? Is it thriving? In decline? In renewal? Run to much by big business?

Do you think good dance music has taken priority over pop-cheese?

Do you think it provides professional and up-and-coming DJ's the venue to showcase their talents?

Is it the music utopia we hope it to be?

It pisses me off that the majority of djs i want to see on a big event like NYE are always in the US, because they will get paid megabucks. DJs like Oakey think theyre the best thing going because they'll happily play whenever in the US but hardly ever play in Europe now (not that we really want him back). They forget their roots, and who made them big in the first place.

In NC they have this bull membership rule that they only enforce when they are in the mood for it, it completely eliminates any spur of the moment partying. There are about half as many plces to go find EDM on any given night then there were a couple years ago.

I'd say that things are in a serious decline in my region, I guess that means more road tripe for me, I feel really sorry for the younger kids who aren't lucky enough to have freedom and transportation, sigh.

it's just a continuous cycle for the greedy promoters/clubs who come out of the bushes and try to make some quick money and then suddenly drop off from the edge of the scene.

Thinks are getting better I think but there's still a lot of turmoil.

I think I read somewhere that Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto and Paul Oakenfold are all playing in Los Angeles this year, so I'm guessing that the scene is pretty healthy out there.

I thought this would be a better thread to read and learn more from than another ' top ten trance tunes' or ' why I love xyz DJ' thread :D
