Just checking in on you guys - this is probably my only post tonight. I'm at an undisclosed campaign headquarters.

This is what I can tell you: throw all predictions and projections out the window. Don't trust a prediction until it becomes actual numbers. We've seen some very odd ballot-splits and weird demographics voting today. Old exit poll models are probably unreliable.

Also keep in mind that more absentee ballots have been cast in this election by at least 50% - and they won't be counted until after all of today's votes are counted.

I may lurk for a while, but don't have time to join in. Later--

When we know Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida, we'll know who wins. But we have no idea when we'll know on those states. It may come down to absentee counting, which in Florida, would mean no sooner than midnight Florida time.

I agree... For what I hear. 20% of the Florida recints have given the results.. it's giving Bush and 11% lead, BUT! those recints are in Republican owned counties.. the big players are not in yet.. so take that out of contest. Im just updating..
Spacey Orange
New Jersey for Kerry, cnn reports.

It may be a harbinger of things to come for bush. According to cnn, terrorism was the most important issue for NJ voters, yet they chose Kerry.

Some 50,000 or more absentee ballots that could make a difference in who wins a close election in Florida will not be counted until Thursday, election officials there say.

Election workers in Miami-Dade County apparently have been overwhelmed by the task of counting from 80,000 to 95,000 absentee ballots. The Miami-Dade County elections supervisor, Constance Kaplan, could promise Tuesday evening only that the ballots will be counted by noon Thursday.

That's the deadline for all votes cast in the election to be counted, according to Alia Faraj, spokeswoman for Florida secretary of state. The deadline for counting overseas ballots is November 12.
