Talk about hypocrisy! The Republicans want the government to stay far away from business and the market place.
"Free Trade Baby! Let's do it!" "The government must and will not interfere with the private sector!"
...BUT when it comes to issues of morality, Republicans are all about the government telling you what do to.
Why is that okay??? |

You guys are the ones who have been throwing around such broad generalizations. Now you're backing off. That's more like it. |
Not really backing off- just explaining my sweeping generalizations a bit. :tongue2 |

You just nailed a big issue I have right on the head.
It's okay and, to a certain extent if you will, "moral" to allow businesses to run as they see fit and let the laws of capitalism govern themselves. Even when that corporation is shown to clearly be shorting either their workers of a living pay, or shorting their community, state, country, or world via pissing all over the environment. It's okay and "moral" to limit how far a worker can take it to the workplace and corporation when that corporation has willingly and deceptively caused harm to that worker (*ahem*, tort reform anyone?). No morality is necessary here.
But all the morality in the world is necessary by our Federal GOP-run government to guide our social aspects in each and every way possible.
I really wish the Libertarian philosophy would take over the GOP in terms of social issues here. |

Have you forgotten?
Bill Clinton: a.k.a. "Bubba" The epitome of an Arkansas hillbilly redneck.
Al Gore: Born & Raised in Tennessee(yet couldn't even carry his own state)
Seriously, it's time for this talk to stop. The hypocrisy is laughable. |
1 person has said that...Dave Piazza...he has posted it in many threads so maybe you think hes many people |

Hmm, sounds like someone wants to bring back poll tests. Weren't they part of Jim Crow laws?
Anyway, I see the southern part of the country as having the common sense to know that the only way to deal with terror is sheer ruthlessness and stubbornness. You sure aren't going to get that out of Kerry and Pretty Boy Edwards. I know we can get it from Bush and Cheney.
When Leno and Hannity do their "man on the street" interviews to show the stupidity of people where do they go?...... Yes, NY and LA.
I live in the south, we are far from stupid. Show me a city in the South where 50% of the people can't read. Now look at NY their illiteracy rate is pathetic. |
I shouldnt have to tell you there is a difference between ignorant and stupid. There are MANY other issues besides just terrorism. Of course you can go to any city and find some moron. Of course L & H are going to go to a liberal state and show that. Again you are focusing on one person or interview. You live in a college town so I would expect the intelligence level to be a bit higher there. Texas is a big state though and once you start polling everyone else- sorry you average comes WAY down.
I guess the sorry thing is stupid people in NY dont vote and have less morals on average. Now you're weighing no morals or values to the south which has very conservative morals and values.
Bush wins because bobby and daisy dont disrespect their parents and go to church on sundays and do as they're told. Not because they've researched the issues. I guarentee most the voting decisions came from mere tv ads and scare tactics. |

Man, that guy is all over the place! He is certainly the prominent voice that's making the claim, but I have heard it from several others out there. In fact check out some of the comments from board posters like Kamil here. It's all over the place. Blaming "rednecks" is something the outraged left has been doing for some time now. Check out a leftist site like democraticunderground.com and they're making similar claims.
Yay. Let's label people! We're the party of tolerance! Though we only tolerate those who vote for us! |

Hahahahaha!!! I'm so shocked you listen to Sean Hannity, A/K/A the most partisan person on the planet. There's some people about as bad on the left too, but this really explains all the threads you've started. It's one thing to believe in a certain view of the world, but to believe every attack on Kerry is fact just because he's a Democrat is foolish. True, It's the same if people believe every accusation made about Bush, it's wrong as well, but you've been posting so much about swift boat vets and crackheads, you're just reciting rhetoric. |

Now don't you think a strong case, a very strong case can similarly be made about a great many conservatives slapping labels on Dems.?
You want me to pull out some exhibits of some of those gay-bashing fliers that the GOP handed out to some states right before the election? |

Clinton, Gore, Bush ... they're all trailer trash hillbillies. You should come up North Shakka ... we have cities ... with lots of cool stuff in them. :p
I'm not letting my distaste for everything south of DC and west of Maryland (minus CA) show am I? ;) |

My parents actually live in DC now. I love that town--lots to do and so full of history. Then again, the same can be said for certain parts of the south.;) |

Yes I hear the farmer’s markets are quaint :D
Oh well, at least you’re near an ocean (Georgia I presume?) … unlike Opus who’s in cow-tipping land. |
