New Virus

From inside a host application, the plug-in enables the new VIRUS hardware to appear as a multi-channel VST/AU soft-synth with up to 4 sub-mixes (or 2 × stereo). Access’ proprietary driver technology makes VIRUS TI the world’s first hardware synthesizer with sample-accuracy timing and a delay-compensated audio/MIDI connection.

that's awesome.. I was wondering when access or clavia would do something like that.. but when this thing does come out (if the article is ligit) it will cost an UN-GODLY amount.. $2000 about (according to the website)... so I'll stick with my Virus Powercore Multi DSP plugin for a few years.. (about $1000)

Note: there are NO official press releases reguarding this on the access music website - http://www.access-music.de/news.php4

a search of the official GearJunkies website for virus polar returned 0 results..

AND a search for "Access Virus TI Polar" on google returned 0 results.. so my guess is that it's full of .. but that USB to VST Instrument idea is mint... (and I'm sure it's quite possible)

oh man that looks awesome. To bad it cost the price of 4 powercorc pci's. I'd rather buy 3 more pocos with the money. But I hope this is a growing trend, and more companies do this too.

Also new is HyperSaw™. It taps up to 9 parallel sawtooth oscillators (plus 9 optional subs!) for colossal classic layers. The number of voices can be changed smoothly in realtime. Surprisingly, HyperSaw doesn’t require additional power or reduce your polyphony! With 9 main plus subs per voice, the VIRUS TI can play over 1800 oscillators in realtime! Now imagine Access’ award winning filters, including MiniMoog cascade emulation, on raw, pulsating WaveTables or insanely fat HyperSaws. With these new features, the Virus has never sounded better!

JP-80x0 KILLER! :eyespop: :D

This probably is a hoax. As my history teacher always said, "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is". Who knows though? Would be an amazing piece of gear if it was real.

I'm starting to believe this rumor.... :eyespop:

Could this be real?

No. You'll notice on the first site you linked to, it is copying the layout of the site gearjunkies.com, even though it is not on gearjunkies. This means it is a hoax.

Too bad though.

The original address was this, but has since been taken down.

After a year and a half of saving, I bought a Virus C three months ago - if this rumour turns out to be true I swear I'll shoot myself in the foot. :haha:
