Having taken an interest in this concept I found it amazing how much the whole set-up would cost! I have given some links below to see for yourselves (too much time on my hands unfortunatly)!

TC Works Powercore Element DSP Card here @ £349.99, 503.08 EUR, $649.72

TC Electronic Access Virus for TC Powercore here @ £329.99, 474.33 EUR, $612.59

TC Electronic Virus Unlimited License (optional) here @ £199.99, 287.47 EUR, $371.26

A grand total of £879.97, 1,264.87 EUR, $1,633.58

Here is what you could have albeit second-hand:

Access Virus C here @ £650, 934.31 EUR, $1,207.11

Novation Supernova here @ £250, 359.46 EUR, $464.27

You may find this thread useless, but I just want to share my find with people and to show that TC Works Powercore it is very expensive compared to similar hardware... I know what I'd have! Please air your views!

you shouldn't compare a powercore with a single synth..a powercore also includes high quality effect/dynamic plugins.. if you've to buy them as hardware it wouldn't be cheaper!

I was looking at it from a synth perspective!
thecYrus
yes i know.. but you also get the powercore01 for this money! (it's the emulation of the SH-101) so you have one more synth for the same price.. or you could buy the v-station soon.
Scottaculous
the prices on a virus c will drop as soon as vrius tl comes out. maybe instead of getting the tc works powercore virus, get the virus c?

That is true, but how many effects/synths could you (feasibly) run on the powercore at once?

I maybe wrong but you have to buy the unlimited license to run more instances!
alanzo
yeh... it is VERY expensive.. I'm selling mine now due to that fact... you can get the new virus TI (which is VSTi integratable) for about $400 more...

the FX that come with it are ok... but Waves is just as good...

What are you selling Alanzo? The PoCo or just the virus plugin?

I wish Waves would port their plugins to the PoCo, that would be just way too sexy for words!!
