Stages of tranceaddiction

So, I've thought about it, and came to the conclusion that the general TA goes through several stages of trance addiction and taste specialization:
0. You do not yet know trance or electronic music.
1. You hear cheesetrance on the radio, and it hits you.
2. You end up looking up more trance stuff, and realize that cheesetrance is . This stuff is usually epic trance.
3. You listen to the main trance categories happily. Sometimes the cycle ends here...
4. But then, suddenly, you hear something different! Something that really punches you. For example: Prog, Goa, Breaks, Old-school trance.
5. You venture deeper into this new style of music, possibly all the way to what it was like when it began.
5,2. You narrow down the genre of your choice additionally, to for example chilled psy. Doesn't always happen.
6a) You start bashing Tiesto and Armin, and thus become an elitist.
6b) You simply stop listening to them.
6c) You stay open-minded, but mostly listen to the specific genre you discovered in step 4.

| Hmm, pretty spot-on. I'd say I'm a combination of 6 A&B. I enjoy Tijs, yet dislike Armin (for ASOT). |

How about this then? (named them all now :D.)
---. n00blar - Makes posts in the wrong forums. Reposts threads that are posted once a week or less. Top 5 song are all by Tiesto, Armin, PVD, and Above and Beyond. Over uses internet acronyms such as 'omg' 'lol' and only visits one part of the forum (usually MD or COR)
--- Post-n00blar - Able to control their outbursts enough to avoid a ban. Start visiting other sections of the forum instead of whoring just one. Post an attention whorish thread about 1-3 times per week. Top 5 tunes are by armin, tiesto, pvd, and markus schulz.
--- Regular - Posts on a daily basis, with about 60% good threads. Has started to band with other like-minded n00bs (with a temporally similar join date) or have joined with a currently existing group (both groups function to read and make serious/useless replies/bumps to each others posts.) Top 5 songs are by Armin, Markus Schulz, Luke Chable, and Michael Burns.
(Some of these people break off and become 'roamers', a type of loner who doesnt belong to any group, but roams the boards imparting their thoughts and opinons (some well, some not so well) on anyone who will listen.)
--- Tranceaddict - Posts hourly with generally good threads. Often prioritizes thread reading by a combination of the title and author. Has more TAs on their MSN/AIM buddy list than real people. Top 5 songs are by Luke Chable, momu, Above & Beyond, and Hybrid
--- COR Whore - Posting is now as much of a part of the daily routine as eating. Threads are nearly always posted in the right place, with a proper use of the search button. Often defends their group when a member breaks the rules, but protests when others (often unassociated TA's) break the same rules. Top 5 songs are by Hybrid, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, and Leama & Moor. |
