hi folks,
does anyone know how big the trance scene in sheffield is???
I go out clubbing quite a lot but often get caught up in student parties with my mates. Ahead recently was cool and I'd like to meet some people with similar interests.
Post if you have any interesting facts to this thread
cheers

there is no trance 'scene' in sheffield.
unless you count nights like 'Message Board Battle', where 'djs' from one message board 'battle' with 'djs' from another message board. Quite sad really.
This night did happen. Its real. |

I doubt PvD will ever play in sheffield again. The club and the crowd have just become totally . It was always full of trend followers anyway, now everyone in sheffield thinks that breakbeat is the new cool, so theyll go to breakbeat nights... |

| of course pvd will play sheffield, he loves it , i have heard him in germany where i am from, so many times talking about the crasher kids and how they adored him, albeit differently compared to german fans, probably more passionately!!! |

yes but that was a long long time ago. Theres nothing in sheffield anymore, in terms of that type of sound. Everything has moved on and the people have moved on. He will keep playing London though, he puts on his own night at Heaven every 2 or 3 months. |

yes i am 99% going to 26.11 - I am interested in marc van linden, although i kind of know he isnt very good... it should be interesting anyway. Which night was your favourite last year??
i dont think i am negative, I am just neutral... but when you contrast it to everyones raving mental hype positive attitude on here it may come across a bit more negative i suppose! |

ahead is a half decent night, but the venue gets on my a bit to be honest. other than that there is really nothing worth going to concerning trance in sheffield, unless its psy.
if you are interested in good music (no, they don't just play breaks) have a butchers at Urban Gorilla @ zero on a friday night. its always a fab night and the crowd are great.
yes it is a shame, the sheffield scene used to thrive, but since crasher went down the bog so has the rest of it it seems... |

Theres always Planet Zogg if you want some tech trance and psy trance. theres the odd bit of techno and hard trance thrown in too.
Other than that and ahead there isnt much going on, crasher is dead except for nu crasher which is a weeknight bit of trance, if your willing to put up with jfk! :haha:
And twig is right, i wouldnt expect PvD to play in sheffield for a long time anyway. then again, he's not the only dj in the world, so no worries. |
