Best nationwide wireless plan?

What is the best nationwide wireless plan?
I was using virgin mobile, but it's because there are large gaps in the coverage area.
Anyways, I've been looking into verizon and it looks promising, but I'm still not sure.
Use this thread to bitch, moan about wireless carriers, and maybe I'll learn something from all the hearsay. |

Yeah I've looked at T Mobile and the coverage is for New Mexico/Colorado/W Texas and most places if you wander off the highway.
I'll check out cingular.
I guess coverage area is most important to me. |

| Sprint Fair & Flexible America allows you to use half your minutes for roaming, and most of their phones are trimode so you can get service practically anywhere. And with a tier2 plan, extra minutes are only 5cents each |

| i had verizon when i was out in Craplahoma,.. but i now notice that when i move to Kansas in a few weeks that ill be on constant roaming,.. SCORE! wooT!.. higher phone bill!! |

I've been using pay as you go, or "paygo" if you want to use a bushism, so that I could see how many minutes I'd use per day/month.
I ended up using about 15-16 minutes per day, so that averages out close to 500 minutes per month.
I think I'd be better off just paying for a 500 minute plan though I do needs teh roaming.

Another consideration is that most carriers offer free and unlimited night and weekend minutes, so a 400 anytime minutes plan might make more sense.

i use T Mobile in CO and WYO and it works well in big towns and highways...other than that, not too well. problem with cell phones is that they are quite like FM radio, if you dont have a straight shot at the tower they are going to treat you tily, which is why its just a pain in CO and the front range.
i have no experience with coverage but Sprint and Verizon seem to be the best out here. t mob works well most of the time, but not always. they do seem to be a bit cheaper than sprint or verizon as they offer more basic packages. not basic in a lack of features, but basic as you can pick and choose or get only what you want| |

Cingular just bought AT&T Wireless, so it's gonna be way better now.
Other than that, T-Mobile is pretty good, so is Verizon... |
