I'm pro-not aborting your fetus just because you ed up in life and only using abortion as a last resort when you are in dire straits and you truly, honestly, belive that this would be the best thing for a child.

Every child has a chance - you can't deny that. Some of the greatest people in this world were complete accidents and, at the time, it probably would have seemed like more sense for the child to be aborted than brought into this world.

I once read my dad's journals from almost 20 years ago. His first conversation with my mother after they'd learned about me was considering abortion and how they'd have to go across state lines just to get it done, seeing as how the state they were living in didn't allow it. Would I have even existed to regret my abortion? No. But I love life and what it has to offer me, and I can only hope that I have enhanced their understanding of the world by my being - I certainly taught them resonsibility, that's for sure.

Not that I'm trying to make an argument here - just thought that while we were on the subject, I'd relate something. :happy2:

Pro-choice, but exercise responsibility and sound judgement.

personally, Pro-Life. As a matter of government legislation, Pro-Choice.

If you cant afford to have/raise a baby, you shouldnt be having sex, regardless of contraception.
Gholy Host
Heheh. I like that pic.

Personally (and politically) pro choice. A woman's body is her own business. Sure, you can argue that if she's stupid enough not to use contraception she shouldn't be having sex, but there will always be stupid people. Why be completely unforgiving in this one area of their lives?

All the psychologists etc. state that how a kid is raised deeply affects how they will turn out in the end (mature). So if you're raised in low income housing and both your parents work 2 jobs (assuming you have 2 parents), odds are you're f***ed. If the parents can save that kid the trouble, good for them.

That's just my 2 coppers.

unless the mother's life is in danger, or its known that the baby has a debilitating disorder, abortion isnt appropriate.

so what about rape cases?

in my eyes, it is STUPID to take away the right to go and have an abortion if the person wants one.. obviously there needs to be good reasons.

regardless of whether people should be sleeping together, or whether they should have used contraception, the fact of the matter is that things have already happened and its a bit late to be giving lectures. when someone gets in this situation, often abortion is the best option. take a 14 year old girl for example, if that kid has a baby then it will basically ruin her chances of getting as far as possible in her education, not to mention the strain on the family.

then there is the research argument. stem cell research is THE most groundbreaking medical research currently active. it is thought that this research can and will bring the cure (or at least good treatment of) many syndromes, diseases and disorders like parkinsons, altzimers and many other problems. without abortions, this research is IMPOSSIBLE. why o why would we want to make such an important part of research impossible in the country which can probably do the best research?! its yet another backwards thing about america.

who will adopt all these babies anyway? the pro-life people?? get real.

Sure, now because of one mistake, you go on and make another.

Yes, I'm a pro-life. Even if it was a rape, the child doesn't need to pay. In this option, it was clearly the state's fault not to provide enough security, so the state should deal with it, not the child.
