finally its my turn...
hmmm XM! you mofo! I knew you'd beat me to the review as I thought about posting this morning upon my return from System SoundBar.:)
I got there alone (I tell you, more and more I feel comfortable walking into clubs by myself these days)as I wanted to get in for free this time at least. With the exception of the doorwoman breaking my ing two cigarettes in my coat pocket( FFS!!!! System Soundbar Gods- this is the second time the bouncer has killed my cigarettes- would it fawking kill to ask me to empty contents out of my pockets!! Its sooo annoying! ...but I got in for free and what more my friend XM(Miki) was waiting for me as promised :) Him and his entourage of about 15 crazzee Serbian friends. I knew none of them but they accepted me into their fold instantly- let me tell you their energy was out of this world and we danced our asses off. Dj mute RAWKS- I want to see him in the main room!please!!!i mean this guy had the place bouncing before 11pm!I was there with TAs and non Tas till Mistress Barbara came on or shortly thereafter. Ha ha Miki I told you YOU'D have fun right... as did I with your friends:) Until BAD BOY Bill my friend! and you ARE coming! as are all those who read this! Trust me.
On I go-I see Jenna, Mike, Dallas, Frank, Danielle, Alex, Jelena(a new addition to my inspiration) Michael, Sally,Vic, Karl- OMFG, I can't possibly remember all the names of around the 100 people that I knew there, all with amazing personalities!! No word of a lie!
Anyway- Mistress Barbara simply blew me away- her mixing impecable, her basslines-thick and chunky. I had been previously exposed to very little of MB's music but I listen to my EDM wiz friends when they tell me to go to a party. So how could I miss a female DJ of this calibre... and what I was rewarded with was a woman poised, professional, enthusiatic, charismatic but most of all-I saw an exceptionally good DJ, one who clearly knew her as she busted her groove interacting with the crowd and I wish I'd seen her drink red wine as opposed to the white she drank but who the am I to say anything ;) ..the last time I had this much fun at a techno night was when Ritchie Hawtin spinned back in Jan at SSB.( my top party ) I romped around with friends and strangers alike from 11pm-5.30am and burnt prolly around 10584 calories. I dunno- her funkyness truly made it a worthwhile dance night. Me poor legs!!!
The vibe was out of this world! The smiles and the moves that the party children were breaking on the dance floor were insprational to say the least... and finally no techno review would be complete without giving the WOMEN on the dancefloor the deserved respect. I have seen this over and over!! At one point it was 80% women and the men stood aside taking in the moment. and there was no shortage of energy on the dance floor. Truly rewarding! and I am humbled yet once again! Kudos! I know it'll be a while before I can bask in this kind of glory!!!
So with that said- hats off to all who came to support DJ Mute and all the other DJs- keep up the work and finally no review from this Voodoochild would be complete without the oh so overused.................
and the Party children went home happy!

Thanks so much to all the TAs (Dallas at System, and whoever walked with them to Boa, + Nathalie) who showed my friends Jay and Meredith from NY a good time! Hi to Danielle who had everything that was good at the right time at the Guv on Saturday! Thanks for the after party on the Saturday, Miguel. Frank, you are a man unto yourself. Ray, thanks for stopping by on Sunday (Niall and I will be at System when you're in the frontroom)! Can't wait to party again soon!

Actually I seem to recall myself making this exact statement at one point during the evening...

So sorry I missed u- Callie5 adn Newr :( you know me I travel all over the place... ALL night- but mostly I dance around Samhouse and Tully- where were u dancing.
Yeah Miki - You have much to teach me- wise friend. I value ur taste and judgement and very happy that you were impressed with my peeps as I was with yours. Kudos to all you Tas who were out with their big smiles that night. I too am glad I met all you new guys( ok ok maybe except for vivid boy ;)), gives me something to do while I await my flight... outta here..
oh and job well done System soundbar as the 3 rooms had 3 different genres of Edm playing. My friend David took me to the lounge and the beat were grooving- had a break beaty feel to it. then Mistress Barbara and Dj mute. whoa!
