--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VANCOUVER -- More than 250 experts are meeting in Vancouver this week
for the first Western Summit on Methamphetamine.
Health-care workers, police and social workers will address the
escalating crystal-meth crisis in Canada.
Vancouver Coastal Health Authority spokeswoman Kathleen Butler says
delegates will look at ways to educate communities.
Dubbed the Dark Crystal, the drug can be bought for as cheap as five
dollars a hit.
Battery acid, brake fluid and floor-stripper are just a few of the
ready-made products that make up the drug.
Crystal meth first became popular in the rave scene but it has spread
to mainstream use, from high school youths to professionals.
The dangers include risk of stroke and permanent psychotic symptoms.
The summit, which runs through Wednesday, is jointly funded by the
provincial governments in B-C, Alberta, Saskatchewan.

Whatever. Thing used in production aren't anything like the things in the finished product. That's the fun of chemistry. Remember people they grow magic mushrooms in , and the mushrooms themselves aren't .
If the criminals making the drug are doing their job, then there won't be any battery acid, or brake fluid in your drugs. |

Although this is true it is still extremely bad for you. Its a waste of a life once you get hooked on it, Im sure weve all seen people go down this road and its sad.
I HAD a friend, I say had as he got so paranoid that he couldnt trust anyone, that has seriously ruined his life. He once had me take apart his stove fan to prove to him that there wasnt a hidden camera in there spying on him. Hes taped up all the vents in his house in case ppl try to put cameras in them, and has taken apart his computer screen paranoid that someone broke into his apartment when out and put a camera in there to spy on him. He was very successful before he got caught up in that , its pathetic to see a life wasted like this. |

In the long run, yes they do. The drug is dirt and is one of the most addictive. Obviously if you do it once in a blue moon its going to be different from a hard core user.
Drugs are bad, its pretty basic. |

the funny thing is when they use these scare tactics they neglect to say how everyday foods are made.
Did you know that refined olive oil uses gasoline in the process? But thats the politics of fear for you i guess. |

I was really shocked to learn how common meth is on the west coast. It's the drug of choice from those that I've talked to.
Jay, comparing olive oil to meth is really quite stupid. Do I need to spell out WHY it's stupid for you? |
