WARNING: Behringer DJX 700

Recently I received an email from the engineers at Behringer regarding their DJX 700 mixer that I would like to share with all of you.
----------------
Thanks for helping me out with this issue, as it's really important to me.
The main problem I'm having with the DJX-700 is with the effects. Whenever I want to use the preset effect, I set the effects source knob to Master and keep the the effects level down low. I turn the effects button on and when I want the effects to come in I turn the effects level up. When I pass half-way on the effect level I can barely hear the effect; even after 3/4 of the way up to max I can still barely hear the effects; then if I turn it up any higher, the effects distort the music and the master levels increase dramatically causing distortion.
This happens especially, but not exclusively, with the flanger (preset 40).
Everything else about this mixer is perfect, except for the effects; the flanger doesn't sound clear and always distorts the music playing.
A friend of mine even had the exact same problem with this mixer. He had a DJX-700 himself and was disappointed with the effects processor as well.
Please help me out with this problem; you can contact me during the day (8am-5pm est) at *phone number removed*... or in the evenings at *number removed*. Thank you for taking the time to assist me on this matter.
Sincerely,
David Stephens

Hello Dave,
An answer to your question concerning DJX700 FX use (that you posed to Chris Gomez earlier) was forwarded to me. The engineers confirm that this is normal performance of the FX on the mixer, and suggest use of an external effect unit (like our DSP2024P) in the FX loop on the mixer if it doesn't provide the type of effect (or level) that is to your liking, or to consider trying a different mixer for this purpose.
Best Regards,
Richard

eh.. behringer! they're good for one thing: the MDX2200.
the mdx2200, for the price, is a great little compressor/limiter.
most thier stuff is horrid. |

yeah their studio equipment (as in mixers, eq's, and some of their sound processing modules) is really good. they just seem to think that the same components can put up with the hammer that us DJ's give it.
phat chance. |
