| let me recount my 1st happenings with EDM. it was junior high, my dad was taking me to school and i was flipping through the radio...alas i stop on 103.1 (then groove radio) i thought...man whatever this stuff is its cool! so i would listen to groove radio every now and then but was never sure of the names of artists/djs whatever...just listened to the music. then high school came around and i was a really really big hip hop head, all i would listen to was hip hop. then someone gave me the eiffel 65 cd, and i was like "holy i used to listen to this 'stuff' in junior high...i LOVE this". and thats when it began. a friend of mine told me something about paul oakenfold, not sure what it was but that name stuck out...so i downloaded something from him. The Essential Mix in 1999 from Shanghai, China...it changed my ing life. ever since then all i listen to is EDM. this genre can express so many feelings and emotions without using words, and thats what i love about it. the fact that an entire room/club full of people can dance to the same song and feel the music and all that...its beautiful. |

| YEAH that was so much fun!!! that was my 1st time ever seeing him. no wait...that was my 2nd time. the 1st time was the previous year when he did the same thing for Bunkka. but i think this time was way cooler for 2 reasons 1) julia is hot 2) i stole one of those big ol' posters with the great wall cover on it. so i got 2 things from that day....kick ass poster with oakie shouting at me and kick ass julia as a friend...ahh the memories. OH i also remember oakenfold totally ignoring me to talk to julia and her friends, stupid guys and our obsession with boobies! |

| Bas, oaky got u in at the grand opening of Avalon last year? i in waited for 3 and a half hours and the line didnt move a in INCH. NOT 1 in INCH! |

| I still remeber how i started into EDM. It all started with MTV (back when it was good! {if you can belive that!}) I remeber hearing Daft Punk - Around the world (97-98?). I remember the style from the time. It wasn't pop. It wasn't rap. It was just cool. Before that i was in my Happy Hardcore days. :( yes i know, sucks to be me. I remember the goods hearing Paul Oakenfold on the world tour. as a matter of fact i was listening to them in my car the other day! |
