I wouldnt call our group the easiest, but it always wasnt the hardest neither i must agree. It is true that Germany were playing better for most part of the game, but our defense held tight and the germans were lacking the offensive power they needed to win that game, that was their main problem. Everyone knew Brazil didnt have the greatest defense out in the field (we still dont), but our strikers and middle did what they were being paid to do and pressured the Germans on key plays... and what do u know, we won 2-0. I wouldnt call that unfair or lucky, Brazil was just able to finalize and get the goals when it had the chance, while the germans didnt.
And I do beleive that the germans were placed in a easy group too, i mean Rep Ireland, Cameroon and Saudi Arabia r not the greatest teams out there, u cant really use that xcuse. And they did not play that amazing, they showed skill ofcourse, but nothing to make me go :eek:

Does anybody really blame him? His parents are English and he had the chance to play for one of the greater football powers and possibly WIN something! Playing for Canada gets you absolute ALL. It's such a waste of time...so pathetic. I was born in England, Canadian mom, British dad...lived here most of my life. If I was a superstar player, I goddamn well know who I'd be playing for.
Oh, and by the way, The Canada under 16 team PASSED on Hargreaves a few years ago, paving the way for him to be bought up by Bayern Munich. But that's what you get when you have a bunch of Scots running Soccer Canada. Their national team is worse of than ours, yet they run our program. Bewildering. |

Canada got the shaft during the WC qualifiers. Yes, the central american refs made some really, horrible calls.
It's not like the Canadian squad lacks talent. We do have some decent players, but it's always something stupid that keeps Canada from doing well.
Oh well. I will be cheering for Koreans. I'll be happy if they make it past the group stage though. |

Seriously, grow up Spain. Even while watching it on TV you could hear the monkey chanting. WTF! The whole thing blows my mind really, and I do hope Madrid loses the Olympic bid because of it.
The most annoying thing is that the Spanish press keeps downplaying it. Needless to say, the English press are going mental. They have some really good pictures of Ashley Cole on the pitch while fans in the background are makign monkey gestures. |

Right about now, I'd say that Spaniards are probably the worst fans on the planet. I used to think that the Englishmen are the worst, but I've noticed the mental change on the stands, every single game right now, there is a some kinda peaceful atmosphere. There are still the crazy fans but they aint hooligans. Unless in UK they'd ban hooligans from entering the stadiums :toothless Dont know about that, enlight me maybe Jon.
IMO the best football matches should be played when national teams meet. This is where its all about, playing for your country & showing the patriotism. |

Hmmmmm didn't even know Madrid was a contender...although that is a serious blow to them. I don't thikn they have much of a chance against cities like London and New York anyway but you never know :)
England won though so I'm happy :thepirate :D |
