What made you choose edm over other genres of music? (pg. 5)

Started off loving punk music, but all good things must end, so here i am.
Oh, and it all started off with some cheese (Trance Voices Vol8). Little did i realize it wasnt really trance lol :stongue: |

I had a substantial number of choices and EDM won. The styles I was evaluating for a potential favorite:
1. Radio pop
2. Radio easy listening
3. Radio rock
4. Radio hip-hop
5. Radio Alternative
6. Radio christian
or
7. Talk radio
I interviewed my octogenerian neighbors, who were in favor of death metal, my gay co-worker recommended southern gospel, and a grocery clerk with a thick southern accent was particularily found of New-Age-Country-bop.
I did a phone screening of potential 500 listeners in the area and decided that the safest choice was Trance - since no one seemed to know about it.

Actually, I got high on mad dr00gs and trance just happened to be blasting at the time and that's how we fell in love...

| I got into Unreal Tournament heavily back in 99 and the EDM tracks that played during the maps were just killer. Decided to start downloading some tunes from Napster and got hooked ever since. |

| always liking something with electrical, techno sounds, early 90's rave, when i'd of been 4/5. Growing up with pop got boring, then discovering Chemicals, Photek, Future sound of London and even Sasha in 95/96 on the wipeout racing games on playstation, fell in love with sasha's music on wip3out, and started listening to Tiesto when he knocked Sasha off the top. A massive fan of tiesto, armin, pvd, sasha, ferry, Morillo,Diggers, Zabiela, sander K. Trance and progressive is where its at. |

Got hooked on Trance the first time I heard Xpander.. Man I totally love the fact the I got to hear trance in it's finest moments and from trance onwards the whole EDM genre found me.. and of course I've always been up for good music no matter what genre it is..
