OHMYGOD that movie was ING FUNNY......
I mean yeah, it was completely intentionally stupid, but cmon...... the bar scene, and the vomit scene......holy crap......."you're one of those that gave up on life huh"..... and the music during that scene! LOL
then you have the fat guy in the taverna singing "muhammad muhammad, jihad jihad" lol
i mean the movie is making fun of so much different stuff, its ing great, so many hidden messages and sarcastic inuendos about our politics and america in general.....great part is, its not really even biased, it touches both sides.....then on top of that they completely rag on celebrities and everything else....
ahh good stuff |

Just saw this last night myself, but sadly, it wasnt as good as Id hoped. Of course, the limitations of what can be done with puppets comes into play, but I didnt think situations and characters were as well developed as they couldve been.
IMO, not Parker & Stone's best work, but it was enjoyable nonetheless and was stocked full of humour and funny bits. |

true .. but i think it was one of those situations where it has also been seen in some south park episodes where matt and trey don't really make much emphasis on character development, but rather trying to make a statement.
i found the movie to be more of a "statement" movie, rather than a "character-developing" movie. |

I think you can pretty easily have both. Even though they were dealing with well-established characters in their movie South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut, they still were able to convincingly progress the story line while adding a bit to the characters and making several statements.
I just didnt feel like they did so in this one, I felt it had kind of a rushed feel to it. Either way, it was still quality work though, and they continue to push the boundaries for how low you can go... |

damn, i didnt even know parker and stone made that......I knew the humor was familiar....
Anyway I came in it with low expecations, i thought it was just some super hero puppet movie.......thinking it was just gonna be total crap.....but it was better than I thought it'd be. |

yes i agree. their quality of work was very good. the "hurling" scene was magical .. :toothless .. and also the michael monroe confrontation in the base was very good graphics .. and i am not going to talk about the sex scene .. :toothless |

But overall I don't think they have the intellectual capacity to come up with anything that widely appeals to, how should I say, the more smarter and mature viewers. |
I totally disagree. Tthey often make some rather insightful social criticisms, but theyre usually over shadowed by their use of 'toilet' humor. I just didnt feel this film was the best of their work.
If you havent seen South Park in several years, I suggest watching a few episodes from the last 2 or 3. Theyve gone through a major change. |

Yes, thats what I meant. Every once in a while they'll get some A plus material, either on the surface level or the intended meaning or both, but on the grand scale its not that great. BASEketball? Come on. You can just tell that half of the South Park episodes were conceived on a single night of heavy drug intake. |
I thought Baseketball was a pretty efficient parody of the entire modern sports world. |

i agree somewhat .. some of the episodes are toilet-driven where there is no sense or meaning to them .. however, there are some very good episodes as of late .. such as the "michael jackson" episode .. or the "douchebag vs the turd sandwich" episode .. or last wednesday's episode with the bashing of the tv media and the senseless emphasis on tv ratings .. |

Social criticisms, yes. But hardly insightful. the only social statements this movie made were that celebrities are whiners, politicians are warmongerers, and Michael Moore is fat. Kudos to them for being the first to realize this.
Other than that, it was a ty, Jerry Bruckheimer movie spoof. With puppets. |
