Yeah, the Matrix wasn't the greatest film of all time, and by its completion, it was pretty far down in the 'greatest trilogies of all time' list, but the question still stands: red pill or blue pill?
Would you rather live in a fantasy world that isn't truly "real" to others or would you rather know the absolute truth? I would liken it to Vanilla Sky - would you want to wake up from your lucid dream? |

But we can't know the whole truth. Even if we did, we would compare it to our views, which would become biased and, once again, far from the actual truth.
I thought taking the two pills would give me the status of being "The One" in the real world... or in the Matrix... whatever. |

Personally, I'd take the red pill. The truth seems to be the most prevalently beautiful thing, despite it's harsh ugliness sometimes (a contradiction, I know). But a life living a dream seems to be a wasted one, especially when it's just somebody else's dream prescribed to you.
Then again, perhaps we're all just living the dream right now. Not to dig up topics adressed in 1998, but is life just a dream? I'm not limiting this to the Matrix movies - it's something people have wondered for years, I'm sure. |
