Why is it that when I start to get into a specific DJ...

| I always find another that just kicks as much ass if not more. I would have to say Okenfold was one that I first began to listen to specifically and then Tiesto. Then when I began posting here I started to listen to more AVB and now PvD is just kickin my ass. Also, me and my roommate are planning to see PvD in NY on the 31st. Hope it works out cuz I bet the place is gonna be bumpin with some mad hotties. Woot! :tongue3 |

the music is all similar so just enjoy it. |

the sort of thing my mum would say :p actually she wouldn't say 'just enjoy it' she'd say 'how do you enjoy listening to that stuff?'
once u get into the music u start to notice the differences in the style....so you notice that you prefer 'this' type of trance to 'that' type of trance...or whatever |

This is exactly what I beleive.
No one has the exact same tastes as you because we are all different. We all have lead different lives and prefer different things. To say that one person expresses music exactly the way you want it is navie.

| True true i learned to appreciate all djs for different reasons. Johan spins some good hard , even techno sometimes, marco v plays some a good variety and his productions tend to kick ass, PVD is a really good mixer and can really get some energy going. Try other styles as well, ive heard some sets from mauro picotto that were awesome, and ONE (i said one) cosmic gate mix that was good. There are lessner known djs who pop up and make a good mix or two, try Andrew Brown-the sound of things to come, its a pretty good mix. Sometimes i like the complexity and beauty of sasha etc. I tend to go through moods and i like everything at one time or another, for example im in another tiesto mood apparently. The only music i cant stand is #1 hardcore and #2 happy hardcore, both make me want to punch someone. |

See, I would love to get into it (DJing) but dunno how or where the hell to start. I mean, is that all these guys like Tiesto and PvD do? Just grab other peoples music and just mix it into their own set? If true... I just don't see how difficult it can be. Although, I shouldnt make such a stupid remark since I dont know the technical aspect of DJ'ing. But I was first under the impression a little bit ago that they produce their own stuff but I suppose they just throw in some of their own sounds in these tracks and create the breaks and such? Again, how could I go about doing this myself even if it is something as simple as getting my own records and I guess "mixing" my own tunes? |

they do play their own stuff but usually its predominantly other artists material. the whole point of djing is to mix deifferent tunes into one another to tell it like a story.
djing is easy to learn, very hard to master. to start with you need turntables (or cd decks), some headphones and a mixer, then some tunes on vinyl or cd's. warning: djing is more expensive than drug taking. |
