Tracks that mess with yer mind

I'm looking for those weird trippy kinda trance songs that mess with your head. You know the kinda stuff that makes u feel like yer in another world or something? I find myself missing those kinda tracks that make me feel like I've been staring at a lava lamp really closely for a long time.

Stuff like:
Paul Oakenfold - A Voyage into trance
the music on the video at http://www.mentalfx.com/mellowfx/streaming/index.html

Who still makes this kind of awesome trance? If I had to pick a favorite musical style, it would be the style of tracks that are on that trippy streaming video preview page. I want as much of that music as I can find! That stuff is so amazing and cheese free, but its very hard to track down.

I want ID's of the music on that video that I linked to, and musicians I can look up who either still sound like this, or stuff that people did back in the day that has this kind of sound.

To me that is what trance is in its purest form, goa/psy comes close to this sometimes, but often it ends up all sounding the same and grows boring and gets undanceable.

I would appreciate any recomendations very much.

In case that sig changes and someone encounters this thread afterwards, here is whats in the sig "Children Of The Bong - Shpongle - Shulman"

Im pretty familiar with shpongle, they are pretty nice but sometimes it seems like they go way too overboard. That is kinda like an extreme verion of what im looking for, shpongle is good in small doses I think. Something like shpongle but a bit more subtle would allow for extended listening without getting a headache.

I will def look those names up though, cuz outside of shpongle I don't recognize those names at all.

Has anyone seen that video that I linked to? I'm sure people have posted that link before, Im really wanting a tracklist of that thing; I guess the best way to get one would be to fork over 10 bux and join the site, but I imagine those are some pretty common songs cuz I recognized a few and the thing looks like it was created back in the day.

Radagast where do you find more music like that? I imagine it is very rare these days but in all my searches I have never found mention of a few of those names, and I've been spanning the web all day trying to find more.

Well then you'll REALLY love shulman.

I like shulman over shpongle by a large amount, mainly for the same things you said above. I often find that shpongles sound is much to "extreme" as you put it. Like they are trying too hard to make this crazy hippie music, rather than just doing what sounds good.

Also what really pisses me off is how they put in these little drug related quotes in alot of their songs. Take "A new way to say hooray" That nasily voice in the middle just ruins everything for me. Again, dropping these little quotes into their songs makes it seem like they are strictly trying to market to druggo psy hippies, which they may think is their only market (nothing could be farther from the truth however)

Anyways, I should stop, because im starting to bash shpongle, which i would never want to do. Shulmans music just feels more genuine, like the people who are making it are just trying to make good music, and nothing more.

EDIT: BTW, that video you linked keeps timing out.

not new,but the earlier prog trance GU's will trance you out as well as the northern exposure series. to me that is the true trance sound.

hmmm, thats weird, it worked great for me.

Realplayer video streams are a pain in the arse, I thought the music on that vid was awesome but well informed people will have probably heard it all before.

But with a little persistence I'm sure it will come up eventualy, a higher quality version of that thing would be crazy, argh if only bandwidth and disk space were free.

I might pay the 10 bux to join that site tho, looks like you get a load of fun gfx and music and that is a very small price to pay.

I got it to play with real alternative, I had to wait a few minutes before it would start.

Lets hope sphongle's next(and rumor has it last) CD will be better.
Lephaid
Astrix - The Fourth Revelation

6/8 at its best...
armandzadza
Age of Love - Age of Love
Solar Quest - Acid Air Raid
Dance 2 Trance - We Come in Peace

...and other pre-1996 trance.

DFOP04
wats that song julesy always used to hammer way back (and prob still now) with the changing melody (like a rollercoaster, up and down all time), sounded well eeery and proper trippy!!someone most know it.

max
Creamfields23
Starkid - Crayons (Original mix)

The kick in this is very loud. Sometimes I hear it way too clearly and it starts to annoy me and sometimes it isn't even there because i'm lost in this awesome tune. I don't get it :wtf:
