Part of me wants to move past it so badly; it pains me to see you people talk about them and it pains me to see people hurt in this world because of such materialistic ideas of the self. Move past it.

In a socio-ideal sense though (one that is, by the very nature therof, ephemeral) males should not wear pink. It's for women because, on a primal level, much like red, it is utilized by mammals to signify the readiness of its bearer because of its correlation to the color of the nubile human female vagina.

You live in two extremes. You want to reduce things to pure animalistic symbolism, or try to extrapolate with a human mind what life might be like at higher levels of consciousness.

1)We aren't animals, so looking for too many answers there is problematic and reduces us to purely pavlovian mechanistic robots. We have transcended the animal state, and in that transition all previous symbols are transformed. Reducing all women who wear red into women on the prowl demeans both them, and the colour. If you want to pereceive yourself as being limited in that way, that is your choice, but know it will warp all your pereceptions.
2)You don't have an "ultimate" consciousness. Your a human. Trying to imagine what such a thing would be like is very problematic. Any attempt to do so will be just as warped. Thinking you have the mental abilities to conceive of such is just as foolish.

Its fun to think about consciousness in both directions, but rememeber at the end of the day your perspective will always be limited to that of a human male, and that's a bias you can't get rid of.

I'm sick of people doing things like this just in the name of the rest of society. Can't anyone think of how _they alone_ feel anymore?

Alright, say I show up at your wedding in a Bright Pink tuxedo. Guess what, the only memory people are going to take home of your big night is me and my garrish outfit, and you'll have to defend me because I was wearing it to demonstrate my personality.

Society isn't a cage whose sole purpose is to limit your freedom of expression. It's goal is to facilitate social interaction. In a universe of ONE you wouldn't need society... thankfully we need it.

My cousin just two days ago was over and four out of six people in a room told her that she had to fix her hair (only because they thought it didn't look nice) when it turns out that my cousin likes it like that and I told her that's ALL THAT MATTERS. She thanked me and gave me a hug. The end. Full stop.

If that happened to me, i'd say "really? I kinda like it, what's wrong with it? is it dated? Does it not suit my face?", I wouldn't look at this group as a bunch of people who want to make me feel bad, I'd hope they were a group that wanted me to look my best.

The point of shows like Queer Eye for the Straight guy is to say that sometimes we are clueless about the way we communicate through clothing and appearance, and that outside advice should be seen as a helping hand.

Yes, I agree with you, but I think my last paragraph was misinterpreted. As I pointed out, we are primal on a very socio-idealistic sense, not necessarily the one by which I choose to view the world. As a being possessing at least some consciousness, I was merely recognizing the opposite of my thinking.

Humans don't consciously abide by color-patterns anymore, as it's really more of an instinctual thing. The human in me recognizes this as a trait for a homo-sapien; a rather degraded characterization of humanity, don't you think? They are one and the same, yes, but certain considerations differentiate the two - mainly conscious and sub-conscious sentience, for I believe that we possess both the potential and the prerogative for both. Consideration is a strange and debatable thing, but I don't believe we should just give up on it, acknowledging the existence of human limitation - that, in itself, is a limitation; a mental-placebo for prejudice, if you will.

Plus, that last paragraph was really more of a red-herring than anything. :wtf:
