DDTT is good stuff, but tribal's been around for a while and I'm starting to move away from that sound. I find myself gravitating towards a lot of the dirty funky electro now. Stuff like:
Jens - Never be the same
yosh - Do what you want
or
Drama Society - 'Crecendo' [alex smoke rmx]
Would this type of electro fit into the DDTT genre? |
Jens - Never be the same (remix)is a killer tune!
I do love my DDTT but I'm with you 100% in that the new dirty dark funky progressive electro glitchy sound, if done well, is where it is at. Dirty stabs and ripping basslines. so goooooooood.
some new goodies...
Le Ron & Yves Eaux (Original and Nocando mix) - Girls At Night
OkoTek & Delphi, (Innate remix) - Tomorrow's Own
Deepgroove - Louder
For The Decks - Discotek
Trance hasn't loved me this way since 2001. dark and dirty runs in my veins now. |

Finally, a filthy electro fan. I'ma have to check those out for sure. Right now I'm also big on:
Soul Mekanik - 'electrik elefant' [album version], a cross between tribal and electro done with spliced swahili vocals....very cool.
An older one done by agoria - 'spinach girl'. Sexy vocals with a very weird synthesized keyboard riff. |

Soul Mekanik's - Cest Robotique is a dirty little number too.
I do love the electro however it is usually when it is still infused with the sounds of the dark progressive house. haven't made my way over to the pure electro stuff, YET! But considering how quickly EDM moves and matures who knows were I will be next week ;)
I do like the flip side of that Angoria Spanish girl piece "Snake Hips" |

I've checked out pure electro, meh, not really my style. Too many bleeps and bloops, and not enough soul.
As long as the bassline has a bit of growl and funk, it'll be fine with me. |

Of course one has to mix it up and keep it interesting!
I'm hip to the David Guetta, Joachim Garraud, Sebastian Ingrosso type of haus sound -- good ass shakin' techniques. |
