Rotary, i spin minimal techno :)

mixing = rotary

scratching = fader

I perfer the sound and feel of rotarys for most of the music i spin. But when i wanna screw around w/ a few battle records, give me my line faders.

I have a Pioneer DJM600 Mixer (Faders) but I so wish I had a rotary mixer. I can mix smoothly using either but it just somehow feels a lot better using rotary's!

Allen & Heath Zone 92 Rotary Edition....:eyespop:

I own the Xone:92 with rotary knobs and by the far the best mixer I've ever used. I feel like I have a lot more control with knobs, and I just prefer the turning motion as opposed to pushing faders. I mostly spin progressive

Xome: 92 has split cue as well as cue/master mix. The one thing that annoys me about it is you can't cue multiple channels at the same time.

I have a mixer with line faders, but dream of rotaries.

MERiDiAN5i2
both have thier uses.

i prefer line faders on the channel levels and crossfader..
... but i like a nice smooth rotary gain control on the phono channel like most mixers have... and use that as a rotary control when i need it.

rotary controls can be much more precise and seem to produce a smoother sound for transitions and bringing in beats.

the debate is fairly silly considering most mixers have line faders and a rotary gain knob -- just swap the knob on the gain control with a nice fat knob and you have both!

I spin trance and have been using ilne faders, but only until I can afford a rotary mixer. I guess it just seems like I have more control and accuracy with rotary. *Drools over Allen & Heath Xone 92 Rotary Edition*
