The Guvernment Poll! (pg. 4)

Whether it's a "regular" Saturday night or a full blown all access party on a long weekend - The Guvernment ing rules and puts Toronto on the clubbing map around the world. To have that many talented DJs and rooms under one roof on a consistent basis is nothing short of remarkable. The lasers/guv horn/co2 machines in the main room alone are enough to make my dick hard. We just had our 1st of 2 sunrise sets of the summer and that's something you can't get anyone else in Toronto (or probably North America).

Sure the skasians can get annoying from time to time - but for the most part I find them quite entertaining. The $5 bottles of water are a little steep - but it's better than raising the cover at the door for everyone. The fact that I spent $32 for Canada Day with a seemingly endless list of international talent flown in for one disgustingly huge party is something I'm still getting used to. The only complaint I have no "but" to is the overcrowding that seems to happen a lot. Greed is a sin!

The fact that it's the single largest night club and #1 rated in North America according to DJMag and a slew of big name DJs says a lot for what Torontonians take for granted. I absolutely love bringing friends to Guv for their first time and seeing their reaction. They had no idea something like this existed in Toronto, let alone every weekend!

fixed...lol...

And while I am surprised by that figure of $5 for water, it's still a hell of a lot cheaper than $8 in Miami and 8 EUR in Ibiza...6 years ago...

So yah...for what you get for the prices you pay, everyone should just deal with the occasional overcrowding...

And Kotsy...if you're in front of the stage at the right time, free bottles of water seem to float down from above...

agreed that prices to enter the club even on headlinner nights are probably the best anywhere. Guv has done an excellent job at keeping ticket prices reasonable and affordable for everyone to go, but yes this results in overcrowding. Greed is a sin indeed.

A friend of mine came here for Contact back in March, she lives in SF, first thing she had to say about the main room was "this room is so cool" but the way she said it, it was like she had never seen anything like it in North America.

Luv the Guv. I don't go there very often these days. Maybe about 2-3 times a year....used to go almost every Saturday night for a solid year straight. I'm working in clubs 3-4 nights a week, so can never go unless it's a long weekend jam.
