I'm not fully aware of what tiesto has done wrong. I've been hearing many things saying that tiesto "had failed" after 2002, he isn't the same person after 2002? What happened to him in 2002?

Thanks

Right, ok then. What actually happened though lol. Did he stop doing all these amazing sets? or did his productive skills go down the drain?

You replied thinkign that i knew what had happened but i don't lol. I just wanted to know why everyone were saying these things? His tracks seem the same, or even better, so why is everyone saying these?

Whatever, none of you seem to be wanting to answer the question in this thread, even if it was answered in other threads. You seem content enough to give your damn opinion and not back it up with any sort of credibility.

I like Tiesto's work. I can't believe someone would just say 'I don't like Tiesto' as though they are saying 'I don't like Tijs Verwest', like they have some objection with the person, himself. I'm willing to bet you don't even know him.

What I know is, Magik 1-7 is on my shelf and I listen to them all the time. It's obvious that, as a DJ, he picked his tracklisting, and I happen to think that he did a damn-fine job from Magik 1 (1997) to Magik 7 (2001) - he was at the top of his game, whatever that really means. Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise albums are absolutely wonderful, and I really enjoyed listening to Nyana. Just Be is where, I think, Tiesto alienated much of his audience - for whatever reason, people just didn't like the sound much. Perhaps it had something to do with him fully producing this one, and people seeming biased towards the fact that all the sounds might be similar? I'm not sure - all I do know is, Just Be is a great album with an excellent balance of high and low moments, vocals and pure technical desolation.

Do people really have to have an explanation for their tastes though? I'm sure Tiesto has always had an anti-following that were pissed when he moved on from his Forbidden Paradise. People change, artists change, you should change with it or just seek musical enlightenment somewhere else.

I'm not here to convince you that Tiesto is a great DJ - you've already made up your mind about that, and to attempt to change somebody's preference through argument is ultimately futile. However, acknowledge the fact that people like(d) him for a reason, regardless of what his present standings are.

post late 2002ish (after the summer and his DJ Mag top 100 #1 nomination)his sets started to sound like garbage and his production went the same way with a few exceptions, it just doesn't seem like he's trying anymore, IMO.
EriK_V
first dj to get rated #1 for three consecutive years. He clearly has talent. Whether or not one agrees is based purely on opinion.
