Anyway, I think it comes down to preferences within a group of people with similar interests. From my experience people often tend to listen to similar music to their friends and associates and liking a form of music often has as much to do with what that genre represents and the ideologies of the people that promote it. |
don't take the title personally..I just couldn't think of anything to say. As for preferences within a group of people, I understand and agree with what you're a saying. I just find the turnout of preferences to be sort of ironic |

I remember when I was at Oakenfold's performance, there were several black guys dancing their ass off to the insanity.
The whole assimilation-of-musical-preference concept works for the most, but not all. I developed the love for trance only by myself. Before that, I was a rocker among rockers. Everything that I learned about trance came to me without any guidance in the environment, where most people hated this music. |

actually I think rap came from a type of poetry from the 30s where people read their poems to background music. Where all of the glamor and flashiness came from---- not a clue |

Oh, let's not go there. You're stereotyping big time. Thread was about racial stereotyping. That Rap crap is worthless in my book and many blacks may feel the same way and listen to trance instead, but they also may listen to country or soul or Heavy Metal or whatever pleases them. I remember the problem a few GIs had in Korea who were Asian for sure, but never lived in Korea and knew nothing of their language, but since they looked like them, they expected them to speak Hangul.

the other guys had made references to the Chappele show, which is what i was doing there. when they are doing a spoof of Puff Daddy's show.
