"why do birds, suddenly appear..." :wtf:
Close to You is my fav. Walk on By is great also.
Other good ones:
Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head
With Open Arms
The Look of Love [nice cover by Diana Krall]
What the World Needs Now Is Love
Definitely one of the greatest song writers ever. And I only just found out recently that Elvis Costello made an ablum with him - which should be quite good. |

bacharach/david are up there with lennon/mccartney and holden/hasselhoff as one of the great song writing duos of our time.
they have a back catalogue that would make oliver lieb scream like a little girl. their songs are covered by more artists than hoobastank and maroon 5 COMBINED.
for those unfamiliar with their work, have a listen to my best friends wedding soundtrack. sadly my fave song of theirs is not on that compilation;
(The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valance. what an epic tale. im surprised this has not been reworked in some way shape or form. |

| There will be a documentary on popular music and song writing on the ABC called "Walk on By" this Thursday @ 8:30pm. It's a multiple part series [can't remember how many episodes] - it's of course a repeat but definitely worth watching again. They have a segment on Bacharach and Daivd later on in the series. |

In the original Austin Powers that would be "What the World Needs Now". In the sequel, refer to my post above.
