The Ultimate Computer Setup (pg. 2)

That's a lot of time/money/heat/geekyness there. I thought me and my friends were bad w/ our own near terabyte machines w/ heavily overclocked systems. But That's insane. We need to build something that will pwn3d that crap for the hell of it. :P

nah... it was hard enough for me to afford parts from my pc even though i work for a pc shop. I think i'll enlist a few customers' servers and pcs, also build a couple more when the boss is away... That will pwn the seti farm....

heh max I've seen overclocked was around 5.5ghz with liquid nitrogen

I hardly call that the "ultimate" setup.

For one, it runs windows!

Give me 2,000 Apple Xserve rackmount servers hooked together in the same way, and I'll get back to you when I get bored.

Just give me one of these

how much would that setup cost?...doesnt seem like the type of thing a normal person could afford...

needs a few LCD screens setup like in the movie Swordfish.. (..first movie that came to mind)

what else could a cpu farm be used for other than seti, folding, and rendering?

running servers?

that guy sure has a lot of monitors..
could watch a lot of porn you know....

i think i should start collecting second hand and un-used pc parts to build an army of processors which will eventually develop into a conscious being and destroy the world...
mwahaha?

I just don't see how the world would have got by without a computer - it is SOOOOOO apart of everyones every day life -

well except for those that are to old to give a !;)

It has to be a fake set up, the motherboard here is not supported on the metal pins and therefore would melt in like two seconds as i have done this before !
