LOL!! I'm not trying to take this piss out of you here or anything but, 6 months?? I would still consider you a noob, , I've only been had my decks for 8 months and I'm very sure that I'm still a noob in the DJ world. I respect what you're doing here Coleman, but telling people you're not a noob b/c you've been at it for 6 months is setting yourself up to piss people off. |

They won't. You started off on TA bad as I remember and now even though you're doing good there are people who will not let the past go. They'll pick and pick and pick. Tis the nature of the board I guess. The only remedy would be to ignore it or lay off the board for a couple of months and maybe they'll forget about it. |

I have never posted a negative comment about you. Anyways, not one that I can remember...
But I have to say your attitude does piss me off sometimes. Saying "i can do this, and I can do that" but not be able to prove it is something I just can't stand.
I'm not bitching at you or whatever, i'm just trying to explain why some people do bitch at you. |

Yea, I was trying to figure out what it was about your posts that pisses people off and xtension hit the nail on the head. It's awesome to be confident in what you do, but alot of people take over the top confidence as boasting and that rubs everyone the wrong way. |

COLEMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most of us aren't putting you down, we are giving you constructive critisism that you REALLY need to take on board but you take it as a negative comment and eventually digging yourself into a flaming hole. No matter how much of a good DJ you are or aren't you still need to listen to others on what they think about your djing and the way you present yourself. If you do have a dj sesh give us all a yell and i think most of us will be happy (ish) to take a listen. |

The difference between this thread and the other amateur DJ promotion ones is that the rest of us modestly post a mix that we hope we will get positive feedback about to see if we're making progress. We can all record a set and think it's the best in the world in our heads, but it could just be like the emperor having no clothes if there's no honest comments from others. When you get your decks for Christmas, go at it for several weeks and simply post a set on here and say "hi, I'm a fellow TA and would like some feedback on my first mix I've made since getting my decks. Please understand that I am still learning and I would appreciate you listening and giving me feedback to help me improve."
That's exactly how I posted my first mix and will continue to do so, because people aren't going to be positive if you tell them how great your work is and that in 5 years you'll have Ibiza residency. Some people will be negative no matter what, but most people who will listen to your stuff on here are fellow aspiring DJs who help each other out with constructive criticism so we all get better. You wont find better people to get advice from and help you succeed than TAs, because these are the people who live for EDM and will likely be the first to give you a shot when you start to get gigs and advertise them.
You're 15, right? Geez, you seem like you put a lot of your time into this and if you keep your interest and continue to practice hard, you could really have some great skills and a massive playlist by the time you're 21. Good luck to you, but just be humble and let others help you improve. |

Check my experimental mix...http://www.dj-coleman.com/mix.mp3 now... this mix is me just working on Transitions its gonna sound wierd etc at some parts, its a fun mix, AKA Learning Mixes i do about 4-5 times a day, try to learn where to mix in songs etc. Its only 16 minutes long.
I messed up some transitions.. but someday it will all flow :). |
